The protests are pouring in.
Hundreds of liquor stores and bars across the U.S. and Canada are removing Russian vodka and other Russian-made alcoholic beverages from their shelves in protest of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
After weeks of warnings from Western leaders, Russia unleashed a three-pronged assault of Ukraine from the north, east and south on Thursday, in an attack that threatened to upend Europe's post-Cold War order.
Liquor stores in the provinces of Manitoba and Newfoundland said they were removing Russian spirits, while Ontario, Canada's most populous province, also directed the Liquor Control Board Of Ontario to withdraw all Russian products. Meanwhile, in the U.S., videos circulated on social media of bars and liquor stores emptying their Russian vodka and removing bottles from their shelves in a show of solidarity with Ukraine.
'Ontario joins Canada's allies in condemning the Russian government's act of aggression against the Ukrainian people and we strongly support the federal government's efforts to sanction the Russian government,' Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said in a statement.
'The people of Ontario will always stand against tyranny and oppression.'
More than 700 stores across the province will remove Russian-imported products, which include Stoli Vodka, Russian Standard Original Vodka, Beluga Noble Russian Vodka, Karkov Vodka and Zyr Vodka. Smirnoff, while founded in Moscow, is owned and produced by U.K. company Diageo.
Canada imported C$4.8 million (US$3.78 million) worth of alcoholic beverages from Russia in 2021, according to Statistics Canada (Statscan) data. That is down 23.8 percent from C$6.3 million in 2020. Vodka is the second most popular spirit among Canadian consumers after whiskey, Statscan said.

Ridiculous.
Just plain stupid.
..stuff they’ve already bought and paid for..
brilliant.
THAT’LL stop this nasty old war!..
Every single daily mail article since this conflict started has been a lie or false
I don’t drink Russian vodka. The world’s best vodka is made in Texas from corn.
I hate mainstream media.
Waste should not be a thing. Its a jabbering mindless hate generator.
Send it to me. I’ll get rid of it.
Its the Daily lie, who reads their crap?
Titos! My favorite! Also, Deep Eddy is good.
Typical liberal response. Stupid and nothing less than virtue signaling. This is as effective as a house in my neighborhood that has a “Climate Action Now” sign in his front yard. Dumbass.
I’ getting rid of all my vodka! (Straining it through my kidneys first.)
Give it to me...I promise, I’ll get rid of it for you. Honest!!!!!
Isn’t that special. All the serfs are responding to the political theater. Everyone is forgetting about the crap their own governments are putting them through. How much are they paying Putin to distract people from the real crap that is actually causing them real problems? Hey ding dongs, the lights are still on in Kiev, their high-speed internet and phones still work, and only targeted web pages have been taken down. A 150,000 have used this as an excuse to apply for refugee status from one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Sounds like a week at our own Southern Border, only without the chaos. Yeah, that’s a real war.
TBF Canada’s own government has done more harm to regular Canadians than Russia has.
no vodka but still relying on Russian oil..oh noes how will Pelosi get wasted now
Virtue signalling at it’s lamest.
Everything on a local liquor stores shelves has already been bought and paid for. This is such a huge pile of putrid fecal matter.
Freedom Fries!!! Again.
I don’t drink vodka, anyway, but this is lame.
And they’ll have to buy anew at higher prices when this is over.
