I'll go first.
1.) The Whole Enchilada
I am not qualified to comment on the righteousness/outrageousness of this invasion. I don't know if Russia has legitimate claims to regions in Ukraine or even the entire county. A Freeper posted that Ukraine has been a part of Russian off and on for the past 400 years, and of source that has to enter into the equation. But I have learned not to believe anything I read or see on the news until additional information becomes available, and refuse to jump on the hate Russia bandwagon being whipped up by the same evil forces who continue to whip up Covid hysteria. It could be as simple the need to further demonize Russia so as to legitimize the false Trump/Russia claim.
2.) The Fight As It Now Stands
Although I have learned not to believe anything I read or see on the news until additional information becomes available, it appears that the Ukes are fighting back hard and good for them.
3.) The Ramifications For Warfare In General
Although I have learned not to believe anything I read or see on the news until additional information becomes available, it appears that, based upon reports of downed Russian tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft, that those icons of modern warfare have become far less effective in this age of "anti" missiles.
I’m waiting for the book. The news is too corrupt and unreliable.
I don’t know either. However, with the US, Poland, and now Germany sending the military equipment, I don’t think Putin will prevail taking over the entire nation. Think he’ll settle for the eastern part where there is a supposedly affiliation with Russia. We’ll see as the next days unfold.
If there is enough response by other nations in the form of aid and material, we will see columns of Russian troops walking back to the border.
Ukraine may wind up with a lot of Russian hardware plus whatever is being sent by other nations.
What I find interesting is power and internet are holding up just fine. Is this how the Russians are communicating back to their command, therefore they are intentionally not taking it out?
.
I am right there with you. I would normally be glued to the information we are being presented, but I look at everything now as likely propaganda.
That Europe seems to be stepping up their assistance suggests the west expected Ukraine to surrender quickly as it appears Russia did.
If Putin is as crazy as the propaganda has made him out to be, a humiliating defeat, or even one that can be portrayed that way, could potentially be very dangerous.
I can totally understand why Russia is beating up on Ukraine.
Those dumb bastards keep changing the name of their “best” city!
It’s always been “Kiev”... like as in “Chicken Kiev”.
But oh no, that’s not good enough.
Now we got:
Keev
Kyve
Kyiv
Kyvyv
Kwykv
Kevin
Kzyzx
Karlos
Kyzoo
Kick their asses, Russia.
Russia is going to have to take off the gloves if it intends to win.
Should have knocked out the lights and water the very first day.
The bombing of such targets in Serbia was deemed okay at the time.
Put the Lord first. And read Psalm 2.
“Russia is going to have to take off the gloves if it intends to win.”
Armageddon.
‘
The people believing the Media is just so crazy. There are peddling more obvious lies.
Think about like this, when Obama was campaigning for new Govt Healthcare, all the stories in TV and the Internet were of people that went Bankrupt due to Medical bills. They had people dying and very seriously ill, and the Medical bills were bad. They Media played the sad music and spoke so empatheticly when they played their stories.
The Human suffering was real. The Coverage was fake.
There are people today with very serious medical conditions going bankrupt with Medical bills, and the Media could care less. There are people that work minimum wage jobs that can’t afford the deductibles with Obamacare. They can’t afford to get surgeries they need. And the deductible starts right back up in January. Find that coverage and those stories, they don’t exist.
.
Oh and Pedo Joe wasn;t lying when he said the US Army won’t fight in Ukraine.
The Navy has its teams on the ground instead.
I admit my ignorance of the matter and frankly one quote keeps coming back to me . Beware of foreign entanglements !
If Ukraine was winning we wouldn’t be hearing them say
>All males 18-60 are not allowed to leave the country
>We beg for foreign mercenaries, we will supply guns
All of our most evil corrupt pols and enemedia want us to hate, Hate, HATE
russia, Russia, RUSSIA, with every cell and fiber of our being.
That, all by itself, is almost enough to make me love Russia with a passion...
Godspeed, Pooty Poot! If you have them this panicked, you can’t be all bad...
If Ukraine can defeat Russia by themselves, why do they need to be in NATO? From the stories we are getting, it appears that despite the plethora of atrocities committed by Russian soldiers, the Ukrainians are about to overrun Moscow.
Kill the mongol invaders !
Although I wasn't alive at the time, the invasion reminds me of Hitler's invasion of Poland. The despot always has a reason.
I blame the West's weakness for allowing this invasion. Where are the European nations? Their posture seems to be, 'so long as you give us our gas you can bomb the hell out of Ukraine.' Also, did the the U.S., NATO and European Union deceive Ukraine buy giving them the false promise that, "we have your back", and "you will soon join NATO"?
Frankly, if I was a foreign nation, I would not trust any promise that the U.S. or the West gives or implies.
Also, I don’t get where Putin’s accusations of Nazi Ukraine comes from. I’ve never followed Ukraine politics or ideology.
People don’t understand war.
War is to advance a policy.
The Russians have overwhelming force and do not need to use it to kill Ukraine soldiers. They need only use it to cut off food to cities. The cities soon surrender. Cities don’t grow food and Kiev did not stock up. If they did, the relevant warehouse will become a target, but they didn’t.
It only takes a few days. Then they will be told to overthrow their government and they can have all the food they want for themselves and their kids.
It’s the low casualty nature of war nowadays. Advance policy. Not destroy armies.
Heads up, there is only one refinery in Ukraine. It’s north of Odessa on a river, where crude is shipped in and gasoline/diesel is trucked out. It won’t get to the cities so food won’t transport.
This isn’t going to take long and it isnt’ going to require big body counts.
