As I recall, she also played in “The Boston Strangler” movie as one of the victims. Tony Curtis played the Strangler. The movie was very scary.
Where did your father fight? Mine seemed to be everywhere. I did a recording of him when he was 90 about his time in Korea. He saw a lot of things that stuck with him all his life. When we were kids we thought he was a terrible father - cold, unfeeling and distant. But as we got older and the grandkids came along he softened and mellowed. Thankfully.
I grew up watching the show, but of the mind that the Mclean Stevenson-Wayne Rogers-Larry Linville era of the program was that far superior (all sorts of sidesplitting moments) to the later era that featured Alan Alda moralizing and the somewhat amusing adventures or misadventures of Harry Morgan, William Christopher, and Jamie Farr. And then of course was the really good old days of the first season or two with Ugly John and Spearchucker and Ho Jon and even Private Boone.
Served would be a better word than fought. I don’t believe he saw direct combat as he was on supply chain duty mostly in japan. He still very much didn’t care for the MASH tv show.
I’m glad your father was able to mellow as the years went by.
