Out of nowhere he comes up with an 11 point plan. This is 9 months before November. Sounds like another Contract With America that everyone will follow. As I remember the 1994 contract was revealed in late September after much anticipation. It confined the campaign to 6 weeks and turned the rats into drama queens. This may be a peak-too-early idea that could fade. What's in it for him going alone?
You have. Where we differ is whether or not Scott's press release was a legitimate first step.
Maybe, but I doubt it. Just seems to be saying if you aren't proven disabled or actively seeking work, you won't get free money from others who are working. If that's all it is, is that still a problem for you?
Begin by presenting us with the Senator Scott 2023 balanced budgt.
Which may well be coming. But on principle, are you in favor of a balanced budget?
Term limits are unconstitutional.
I agree, so this one is unlikely to happen anytime soon. But aren't term limits an admirable platform item?
Isn't that the very purpose of the census?
The census is but one of literally thousands of government forms, and one of the very few that has nothing to do with application for benefits, employment, etc. So removing those questions from ALL government forms might be good, wouldn't it?
Isn't that a state and local matter and not a federal one? Isn't that the very definition of the census?
Federal crimes like burning down courthouses, election tampering, and major drug heists aren't being pursued by politically correct prosecutors. So you want those states to continue to allow these types of crimes to continue unabated? Not valid of a platform issue?
Not singling you out, but I don't see any of his proposals as not being conservative in principle, but am open for debate. Thanks.
You make a good point. To be honest, I don’t think Scott should be ML, I just think that may be his angle. It’s like a NASCAR race with these heathens, he’s decided it’s time for him to come up from the back of the pack and try to pass on the outside. If Mitch doesn’t slam him into the wall, it’s a coordinated play and just more DC charades.
If that's all it is, yet Scott doesn't mention age levels. But if it is what you say then there have been promises to end fraud forever without any results. Why should this be different?
Which may well be coming.
I will predict right now that the Senator Scott 2023 balanced budget, or any other balanced budget, will ever see the light of day.
But on principle, are you in favor of a balanced budget?
In principle. But I doubt I will see another one in my life time.
I agree, so this one is unlikely to happen anytime soon. But aren't term limits an admirable platform item?
The campaign issue would be a constitutional amendment to enact term limits. Scott seems to be saying that could be done legislatively.
The census is but one of literally thousands of government forms, and one of the very few that has nothing to do with application for benefits, employment, etc.
But Scott promised no check box of any kind.
Federal crimes like burning down courthouses, election tampering, and major drug heists aren't being pursued by politically correct prosecutors.
But that is not what Scott is promising. He is clearly referring to prosecutors at the state and local level. which is not a federal issue.
Because as you said the previous attempts have failed. Failure should not lead to abandonment of the issue, but a redoubling of effort, correct?
I will predict right now that the Senator Scott 2023 balanced budget, or any other balanced budget, will ever see the light of day.
Has to start with the theory, else it never starts.
The campaign issue would be a constitutional amendment to enact term limits. Scott seems to be saying that could be done legislatively.
Didn't ALL Constitutional Amendments start in Congress? So wouldn't that be correct in that it's first a Legislative issue?
Scott promised no check box of any kind.
He said clean up all Federal forms from some checkboxes, for things such as race, not add any new ones, from what I saw.
He is clearly referring to prosecutors at the state and local level. which is not a federal issue.
It is when states refuse to enforce federal laws. That's how drug legalization started in several states, but it's growing into other things now as well.
Without continuing to go over these separately, I think your point is that these proposals are to fanciful and unlikely to happen. While that may be true to a certain extent, I like the boldness and desire to dream big on where we should be heading as a country.
The only risk I see is possibly scaring some in the middle, when we truly show what conservatives want to do, and losing those votes from those who don't want to push things quite that far to the right.
But as far as what Scott is proposing, I think it is a nice wish list of the conservative agenda. Until it's put down in writing as proof of what we stand for, RINOs like McConnell have a much easier time selling us out.
I believe that Senator Scott came up with his plan because he is in charge of reelecting Republican to the Senate? So he needs a platform for them to run on in unity rather than a RINO platform.
Rick Scott is bucking for a window seat in the Republican Clown Car!
.............................................
Bwahahahaha, LMAO! And so true, too!
President Trump isn’t and never was ‘ one of them’.
*Senator Scott came up with his plan because he is in charge of reelecting Republicans to the Senate. So he needs a platform for them to run on in unity rather than a RINO platform.*
Fine. So if he can STEAL a blue state senate seat then his plan would be right all along. Trump got things done, right? If Scott ‘steals’ Colorado or Washington for 6 years we’ll owe him and naysayers can eat crow. I mention those races because it was mentioned in another article. Miracles do happen.
I use Apple, not google
