My. Friends: What is Rick Scott up to?

Posted on 02/23/2022 7:38:14 AM PST by DIRTYSECRET

Out of nowhere he comes up with an 11 point plan. This is 9 months before November. Sounds like another Contract With America that everyone will follow. As I remember the 1994 contract was revealed in late September after much anticipation. It confined the campaign to 6 weeks and turned the rats into drama queens. This may be a peak-too-early idea that could fade. What's in it for him going alone?

On the other hand this could be smart. Getting all 33 GOP senate candidates to sign on will flush out the rino's and 'pass the buck' to the voters just as the primary season starts. His support of 'his own' incumbents' will be forgiven. This is a troubling time for the USA and we can't wait for September to get our message out. The rats 'muddy the waters' in distraction. This will force them to focus-not good.

Yeah. I am pretty cynical on Rick Scott. I mean, almost anyone is better than his predecessor (Senator Bill Nelson-D).
But Rick Scott is not necessarily what one thinks of when the word “honest” is mentioned.

Most of his points is just recycling the same old hackneyed stuff so yeah, he’s running for something.

Are we sure Rick Scott isn’t a RINO that gives lip service to the MAGA crowd occasionally keep in their good graces. In all seriousness, name 5 Republicans in the Senate that have very done anything really conservative. Something simple and actually follow through on it, like fight every frickin’ day against these commies. Results need to be the measure of success and whether any of them get reelected. Keep throwing all of them out until there are actual results.

So Rick Scott releases a contract while McConnell doesn't?

Seems odd.

How close is Scott to McConnell?

There’s more. Crowded primaries will ID the Trumpers-you know-the naming of the fence? Then there are the incumbents that need replacing WITHOUT Scotts’ fingerprints on them. Pass the buck again.

Last-how will Chuckie react? It’s predictable and it will put real heat on blue state incumbents that are up. Think of the suburban moms that want their schools reopened. The time is ripe for a perfect storm. Biden leads us into an unnecessary conflict w/Russia that we can exploit with the help of the heckler Trump. Heh heh.

This is what Newt did in ‘93.

I think Rick has his sights set higher, but not until ‘28.

Rick Scott has near zero charisma. His best offense against the insane Democrats has always been “Let’s get to work” He rolls that out every election cycle. DEMOCRATS campaign every day on OFFENSE. They will take you down any way they can, from criminal charges to blatant lies. Rick Scott’s failure to take on the Mitch McConnell-style corruption, makes him look like another GOP wall flower.

Marco Rubio is the same thing, except with at least some level of charisma, and a little Havana myopia.

Rick Scott is a Mitch Minion. He is GOPe. He has McConnell's blessing to release this fake-ass 11-point non-plan: "I will make a list of things we GOP Senators will never, ever do but that sound like the sort of thing MAGA people say."

Releasing "points" pre-election takes no effort and costs nothing politically. But Scott and his ilk have never, ever proposed actual legislation for ANY of this.

It's pure bait. Don't take it.

If Republicans want to go from a 30-40 seat win in November to over 60 Seats they need to run for something and not 100% anti-Democrat.

A Contract for American back in 1994 was a great move despite it being ridiculed by liberals at the time.

Rick Scott is obviously running for something, but it’s a solid start, develop something about what you will do if you win power in November.

Instead of questioning his motives at this point, run with it and see where it goes before bashing him.

Has Mitch McConnell or Kevin McCarthey offered anything ??

The RINOs will sign it anyway. And then stab us all In the back. They have Lindsey Graham to consult with on how to do it.

The Contract with America was a brilliant plan by Newt Gingrich that none of the frightened Republican ‘leaders’ in congress have had the courage to do since then. It may just take months to entice them to come out from cowering under their beds to embrace something like this again.

He’s doing something people. 75%+ of the comments here are negative. It’s gonna be a lousy summer.

His specific plan cannot be found easy. The yahoo searches give their opinion only-pretty sad. We’re in danger of becoming just like them.

The only thing I want to know from Scott is, where he stands on Trump and the MAGA agenda, nothing else matters.

I like Rick Scott. The problem with us on freerepublic is it’s our way or the highway. I’m getting tired of the highway. We are our own worst enemies and it’s why we’re losing the debate. No one will ever be good enough.

Bullshit!

Trump is good enough!

Either you are tone-deaf or purposefully misleading people, what you say concerning FreeRepublic is just plain wrong!
