The letter was signed by Reps. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), among others.
Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) shared the letter on Twitter, writing that Biden should “follow the Constitution and the law.”
“The American people deserve to have a say before we become involved in yet another foreign conflict,” DeFazio wrote.
Lawmakers wrote in the Tuesday letter that the War Powers Resolution of 1973 has been abused by previous presidents, but they noted that the act restricted Biden from not only engaging troops in battle but also launching a “pre-emptive strike.”

Biden has zero support on this.
Most of the ruling class knows Americans don’t want us involved.
The only thing we have going for us is the midterms and the fact that Biden's dementia may prevent him from serving the whole term.
If anyone in Congress cares about the Constitution, that includes every Republican, then the War Resolutions Act needs to be nullified. It cedes a power of the legislature to the executive. That was no how our Founders designed our government. There is zero reason why in the 21st century that Congress cannot not meet and debate on a moment’s notice to authorize use of military power.
Look at it from Russia's point of view.
How did the US react when the USSR put missiles in Cuba?
Russia sees NATO expanding eastward. All this talk of Ukraine joining NATO has helped destabilize an already unstable situation with breakaway factions that want to align with Russia.
Agree the midterms can change things only if everybody votes democrats will have a lot of rigging going on so EVERY vote counts.
They can only get away with about 2% margin of fraud. So in most races fraud is the swing vote. In 2022 I think the Dems will get beat by 2+% so we might sneak thru.
Your post is best today.
Only that they do not want NATO troops there.
We would not want Chinese troops in Mexico.
We sure didn’t want Russian missiles in Cuber.
Remember they counted 81 million votes in one night.
Then Russia should just build a much bigger bridge where the existing one is (to Eastern Crimea). A 24 lane causeway would be MUCH cheaper than taking even the rest of Donetsk, including Mariupol*, not even counting the two more provinces (Zaporizhzhia and Kherson) between Donetsk and Peredmistne (or Perekop).
Mariupol is about 50/50 ethnic Russians and Ukrainians, with some Greeks thrown in too. It’s also Ukraine’s 2nd largest seaport. Close to 1/2 million people if defense forces are included. No question Putin can take it, and his statements WOULD include it (part of Donetsk), but it could be very messy, and holding it more so.
Dear Congress:
Not our circus, not our monkeys.
5.56mm
Depends on the missile.
Send ZERO SOLDIERS To Ukraine.
NOT ONE US soldier should be sent. If some already were, BRING THEM BACK!
Ukraine is not worth ONE American life.
Have we not learned our lesson? Again and again and again. (Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan)
I can see it now, sending in the “electric” Humvees. (and TANKS).
Nobody wants to get involved in Ukraine. We have our own problems with high energy costs and open borders.
“Lawmakers urge Biden to ask Congress before sending military to Ukraine”
While I don’t want ONE soldier to go to Ukraine, this would be a BAD precedent to set for any president, even an unelected, brain addled president.
Euro trash has plenty of cash on account of suckling American defense taxpayer dollars. Let them dig own tank traps/graves on their soft pasty under belly.
It is probably more effective to send Ukraine an unending supply of as many Javelin missiles and Hellfire equipped Predators as they can properly target and fire. They can pay us back in, oh, I dunno. Lithium, perhaps?
No foreign aid until our border is fixed 🤪
