My belief is the three had no right to do what they did (and were also very stupid handing over the tape that convicted them), but I don't believe the story that the black guy was just checking things out because he was interested in construction or whatever that B.S. line was.

I might catch some grief for this, but I think the best outcome was achieved: The thief is dead, and the three stooges are going to jail for life.

You won't catch any grief from me. Very early on this saga, I made the remark, "This is what happens when the forces of stupid collide."

Nothing I've seen, heard or read about this case has changed my mind.

There was not enough IQ between the four people involved to realize that if they didn't change the direction they were headed, they were going to end up where they were going. Up until about 5-10 seconds before the shooting, pretty much any one of the parties involved could have stepped back or stepped in and deescalated the situation. Not one of them chose to.
