I guess I don’t get it. Why do people want to put themselves on those things?
Sex, booze and drugs.
If you noticed, about the only thing they ever say about it is either "I am going on a cruise" or "I just got back of a cruise", or more lately, "Don't get on my ship if you're not vaccinated". Guess it's one of those elite things you're supposed to be jealous about.
The fact that millions of people enjoy cruising every year (the pandemic years aside) testify to the fact that there is something to it.

Cruises appeal mostly to Dixie Democrat types. Cruise vacationers are 93% white, while cruise servants and the cruise destinations are 93% non-white.
My reaction as well.
I’m right there with you.
Agree entirely. I don’t get it. It looks like a gigantic floating disaster waiting to happen. Hopefully it doesn’t.
I’ve been on a few cruises and I just don’t think they’re for me. Certainly, jumping on one during the pandemic doesn’t sound very clever.
A few reasons:
1-For the cost of less than a moderate hotel room per night, you get the room, food (and sometimes drinks), and entertainment.
2-Let someone else do the driving on vacation (no flying or interstate highways for me, I live 15 minutes away from Port Canaveral).
3-Being able to disconnect from everything. No one in my squadron can call me. I ignore email and news and get to do nothing but relax.
