It is Putin waging war, misnamed one. Of course he would prefer Ukraine surrender without a shot, so he can save his resources to invade the next country, but that is an unrealistic expectation. His next best option is what he has been doing for quite a while, is generate propaganda on the internet via trolls, and use unwitting and also willing fellow travelers where he can, and help the Democrats win the next election if possible, so as to keep us hamstrung with incapable leadership. But then you know that, you just can’t admit it.
I have no doubt that Putin wants to keep Biden in power here, even if it means throwing him an occasional bone.
The defense of civilization itself would require the de-Islamization of Europe.
