You’re thinking of Dollar Tree. Family Dollar has always had items that cost more than $1, starting with the clothing section.

Yep, I remember when there were “5 and dime stores”, such as Kresge or Woolworth’s or JJ Newberry. Whatever happened to those places?

At 72, I readily remember the 5¢ & 120¢ stores from the 50s.

Family Dollar and Dollar General aren’t like the Dollar Tree where everything’s is a dollar (well now it’s 1.00-1.25) Dollar Trees around here are usually pretty clean but the other two usually look rather dirty.
