Naa, I’ve been wanting to get into Ham for a while but haven’t done it yet. I did a Ham license search and there’s a guy and his wife about 5 miles away from me that have licenses. She’s Tech and he’s General. Found the house with antenna tower. Have been meaning to stop by some Saturday and introduce myself. His setup is a repeater. We’re in a hilly area but by looking at a terrain map, I think I’m pretty close to line of sight so I could probably get away with a handheld or mobile unit.
I’ve got a couple of CB radios and have listened but I guess no one uses them around here.

Need to start a local club, That is what I did here. We now have a pretty organized community help/watch program in the area.
