Poor little guy. I have several tiny lizards native to AZ, NM, etc. as pets. They are very cute. I’d hate to see any of them wind up like that.

Puff the magic leezard lived in some amber
And frolicked in a car that needed more camber
Yeah, well try coming up with something that rhymes with amber.

Is the author Locaro related to the “lizard”? Their names are pretty close, don’t you think?
To: BiteYourSelf
Let’s try it.
Puff the magic leezard lived in some amber
And frolicked in the amberlance
I think you should submit it to The Atlantic magazine.
For about a year, they ran nothing but poems about deer relieving themselves in the woods.
I like amberlance better than “the deer copped a squat”.

What kind of rhyme are we going for? There are lots.
A place name might work; or you could make a longer poem and employ 'enjambment'.
Or, you could change 'amber' to 'resin'...and still have pretty much the same problem :-)

Enjambment….
See! There’s the rhyme!
I could write a poem about a leezard who was in the roller derby!
Puff the magic leezard lived in some amber
And frolicked at the roller rink as a jammer
Somehow, we’ve got to insert something about a deer relieving himself in the woods…..
Puff the magic leezard lived in some amber
And frolicked at the roller rink as a jammer
And then he whizzed on an amberlance
I don’t see how they could reject this at The Atlantic.
