In a democracy (such as Canada & Australia) people can vote.
If majority of voters do not like the gov’t policies, the politicians will get voted out. We can not choose which laws to obey and which laws to break. That is called anarchy.

‘Rats don’t obey laws they don’t like; everyday and in every way.

And they give a legal system pass to their confederates. Every day now.

You should read the Declaration of Independence someday. You can't comply your way out from under a tyrannical government that rigs elections.
