Lots of common sense in this comment, but not much in Washington. That’s what makes this so predictable. So far, whoever is running the West Wing still believes they can create the narrative. The media would become war fanboys if Russia invades Ukraine, but I think people are sick of just about everything and just want a peaceful break from stress.

4. Ukraine will lose fast, but Russian soldiers will pay a steep price.
5. Russia can’t hold Ukraine. It will far worse than Afghanistan.
6. Stop this nonsense that we will get into a war with Russia. You play right into the Russian propaganda and trolls that frequent FR.
What Russia is likely doing:
1. They lost there primary objective, which was getting a guarantee that NATO would rule out Ukraine NATO entrance.
2. Likely option: Russia is doing everything they know we see to give us impression of a probably invasion. Likely psyops so we respond, while the do nothing.
2. They invade hard, punish Ukraine, then pullback but solidify eastern Ukraine, with a bit more of a slice taken.
This would be a huge miscalculation as the economic and diplomatic response will hurt Russia badly for 10 years.
FYI: Russia is acting like they are still the great Soviet Empire. Their treatment and manipulation of their Olympic athletes is a fly on the wall to their state systemic Doping of athletes. That poor 15 year old figure skater has been traumitized for life by these statist bastards.

If it happens, I will be interested to see if these predictions prove correct. People tend to talk a lot of smack about fighting to the death. But when there are enemy armored vehicles to their rear, will they put up or shut up, or run for it. I don’t think Ukrainians are quite like Afghans. I suspect they are more likely to hit the road and try life in a neighboring country than they are to become armed insurgents. But that is just an anonymous Freepor guess from someone who will not be fighting the Russians in Ukraine or anywhere else.

I was two flights of multiple military choppers headed NW over Pflugerville (Central TX) yesterday afternoon. At least, they weren’t the Chinooks.

If one American serviceman is killed in Ukraine proper, simply because Joe Biden used Hunter Biden as his million-dollar bag man, and now Joe has to close escrow, the repercussions may produce a House and Senate periously close to GOP super-majorities, but the voters will demand satisfaction, and that is to impeach and remove Joe Biden, as both for 'high crimes and misdemeanors' and unfitness of character for CIC.
Why will this succeed as the first order of business of a unified GOP Congress?
