Sort of and no.

Crane had a very creepy lifestyle where he'd film himself having sex with women. His wife and kids all knew about it. The working theory was that a busness associate or husband etc of one of these dalliances beat him to death. The crime was never solved.

It wouldn't surprise me, if we start hearing all sorts of creepy things about Sagat.

Crane was a sex addict, and his problem became worse after he divorced his first wife and married the actress who played Klink’s secretary on “Hogan’s Heroes.” That marriage ended not long after the series was canceled. By the late 70s, he was working primarily on the dinner theater circuit, where a former TV star could draw a crowd and make decent money. That’s why Crane was in Arizona, where he was murdered.

The man long suspected of killing the actor was John Carpenter, an electronics salesman who was introduced to Crane by his “Hogan’s” co-star, Richard Dawson. Carpenter provided the equipment and tech expertise that allowed him and Crane to videotape their orgies with women they picked up. Crane had no trouble attracting female sex partners and Carpenter got the rejects. Police investigators learned the two men had argued shortly before Crane was beaten to death in his room in Scotsdale. Carpenter was eventually tried for the crime and acquitted in 1994. He died in 1998.

Since then, other theories have been advanced. One of Crane’s sons claimed his stepmother was involved. The National Enquirer reported that Crane was killed on the orders of an LA mob boss, who advanced the actor thousands of dollars to star in a X-rated film. When Crane balked (and kept the money), the mobster ordered the hit.

While the Crane muder is a cold case, authorities in Arizona have never pursued other leads since the acquittal of John Carpenter.

Two ironies: after Bob Crane was found murdered in Arizona, he fled to Beverly Hills, where he stayed at the home of Richard Dawson for a couple of days. And it was another “Hogan’s” star, Werner Klemperer, who led the public push to have Carpenter indicted and tried for the killing.
