Rush Limbaugh, the monumentally influential media icon who transformed talk radio and politics in his decades behind the microphone, helping shape the modern-day Republican Party, died Wednesday morning at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer, his family announced.
Limbaugh's wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show. "Losing a loved one is terribly difficult, even more so when that loved one is larger than life," she said. "Rush will forever be the greatest of all time."

I stopped listening to Rush after he decided not to defend the Constitution while Hussein Obungo usurped the presidency.
Dan probided an update. A relative was seriously injured in a car accident. The person is doing better. I do miss Rush. No one can replace him.
I think that's fair. There is a handful of third rail issues that he avoided. He also allowed Arlen Specter come on and mislead his audience on "Main Street Republicans." There are two entities associated with MSR, and only one of them was donating money in support of some DEM policy or candidate. Rush never called out Specter. That one did it for me, lost much trust and another example of the value of knowing on your own, what is really going on.
But also to be fair, no pundit will be perfect, and taking on a third rail issue is a huge risk as far as audience retention, ability to influence going forward. Step too far away from the (false) orthodoxy, and some audience will be lost.
Rush was a gem. The public was lucky to have had him. I didn't listen to him much, but I have great great respect for what he did.
I feel the same way about Dan Bongino. Whyen he comes on at 12noon, I usually listen for 10-15mins, and then do errands and chores.
I haven’t listened to EIB since the passing of Rush, I probably would if they would put Mark stein in the 12 to 3 slot, he was my favorite fill in for Rush by far.
Was it a niece or nephew? It sounded like someone had died.
I cannot remember the exact relationship, but the individual was ejected from a car. Not many live, but this one did survive.
Mark Steyn has a daily show on GBNews. I usually watch it on YouTube in the evenings.
THANKYOU !!!!!I will look it up.
And I too often find myself wondering "what would Rush say about this?"
ditto that’s an undeniable truth!
I drove my family somewhere (I don’t recall where), but when we drove into our driveway, I burst out bawling. I couldn’t stop for about a half hour.
It took me almost the whole year to hear Rush’s theme song and not tear up. Now when I hear it there is still a sadness but I know he is in a better place. I know there are so many of us who do miss him.
I can’t wait to meet him in Heaven :)
