I don’t expect this new medicine to ever see the light of day. Too much money being made by the diabetes industry.

Here is a ‘breakthrough’ article from 2006:

Toronto scientists cure disease in mice,
Friday, December 15, 2006. Tom Blackwell, National Post
In a discovery that has stunned even those behind it, scientists at a Toronto hospital say they have proof the body’s nervous system helps trigger diabetes, opening the door to a potential near-cure of the disease that affects millions of Canadians.

Diabetic mice became healthy virtually overnight after researchers injected a substance to counteract the effect of malfunctioning pain neurons in the pancreas. “I couldn’t believe it,” said Dr. Michael Salter, a pain expert at the Hospital for Sick Children and one of the scientists. “Mice with diabetes suddenly didn’t have diabetes anymore.”

I take Metformin for type-2 diabetes.
Metformin extends my telomeres and people who have long telomeres live longer.

Studies have shown that people without diabetes live an of average eight years longer than people with diabetes.

Now, people with type-2 diabetes who take metformin out live the average of the people who don't have diabetes.

Always lose as much weight as feasible and keep moderately physically and mentally active and cut all extraneous sugars to see if optimal physical condition can alleviate dbt2....then, if not, use the meds...
Who knows if SWELL1 activity is affected by obesity?

One side effect from Metformin is that it may degrade your kidneys. I was taking 2000mg a day and had to cut it back to 1000mg a day. Now my kidney function has stabilized and is slowly increasing. It try to limit my carb intake to around 100mg a day.
