Hiring on anything but merit can only lead to national decline.
When I wrote "Woke Hiring by Airlines is a Scary Business" for American Thinker on Feb. 8. I thought about the concept of merit in the U.S. and now want to expand further on the concept of woke quotas for any area of our society.
Almost since its inception as a nation, the United States of America has become synonymous with excellence in many areas. Our unique Constitution guarantees its citizens rights and privileges almost unknown elsewhere on the planet.

Most “Human Resources” departments of corporations, whose minions are notoriously “woke” in their attitudes, have been given hiring and firing authority over a very large segment of employers in this country, both governmental and private. By developing quota systems which seek to correct supposed inequities, they are having a very serious negative effect on our workforce.
Age, race, sex or even sexual preference should have no place in determining who should be hired for a certain position, or indeed selected as a candidate for military service or educational opportunities. However, any honest assessment indicates that is exactly what is happening at present.
If we are not very careful, the inscription written on the historical tombstone of this nation will read:
“The United States of America. Born with the concept of Liberty and Justice for all. Died from the effects of Woke inspired Political Correctness.”

Not just HR departments. Many CEOs are so woke that they actually seem to hate the very employees that make their companies work if they aren’t woke too.
It’s evident in the medical field with serious consequences.
In 20 years the defense industry will not be able to build moderately sophisticated stuff
The government never created anything but a tax bill.
Private sector gets it done if left alone.
Woke hiring is the 2020’s version of the Peter Principle.

There is another reason that many folks are willing to remain unemployed, whether or not they can afford unemployment and it is a reason has probably not been studied. This reason is fear. Not fear of working, not fear of doing a job, but fear of abuse and abusers, whether the abusers are bosses, co-workers, or customers. Society has changed. There are still good people with whom to work. Yet there are more crazies, bullies and abusers out there than there used to be and many of these might be your boss, co-worker or customers. It’s exhausting. Politeness has been replaced with irrational anger and abuse. -—— Just a thought.
And within the private sector... there has been that reliable formula - 20% of the employees carry the other 80%. The hiring and promoting woke trend will cause a decrease in the 20% critical mass needed to make a company successful.
Imagine wokesters being given the task to create an SR71 like plane?
Bosses, co-workers, and even customers regularly attack the values of sane and conscientious employees who are attacked even worse if they call it out.
Which incident is this? I know of one from 2016 which crashed on take off. And one in Dec 2021 which did take off after almost crashing.

Still....if you don't hire them, you're racist.
1. If you don't hire them because they are unqualified you are Racist.
2. If you hire them for a position they are unqualified for, and they fail, you are racist.
Which do you pick? Answer: #2 because you have more time before you get called a racist and it destroys you and your family. If you pick #2 then maybe the great meteor of death strikes Earth BEFORE you get called a racist.
The ones riding in the wagon use to be referred to as slackers mostly
people who were hired based on a perceived value of knowledge skills and abilities that they brought to a job or position.
Now the old adage about a blind hog finding an acorn is not cast about in jest for fear of offendingness.
