Matt Bracken on the corrupt "permanent aristocracy" in America
Odysee ^ | Feb 13 | TMS

Matt Bracken: "It's now a permanent aristocracy because their children somehow get into Harvard and Yale like Chelsea Clinton who couldn't run a lemonade stand.. I think she went to Stanford I forget but right out of college she makes $700,000 a year from NBC for a no-show job. I think she had like 10 minutes on camera and they paid her $700k. This is all the people dealing Aces and Kings under the table to each other while pretending we’re all playing in a fair card game but the same cheats are passing cards including setting up their children for membership in this clique by making sure they get to the right Ivy League school - no matter what their grades are - and then when they have that diploma they can intern for Goldman Sachs, you know, they can work for these corporations and then the next thing you know they've got a high six figure job working for these same corporations or they move in and out of academia, they move in and out of government. It's a completely corrupt and incestuous deal.

Until the 1970s in America lawyers couldn't advertise.. It was considered unethical and until the 90s pharmaceutical companies, I think it was the 90’s, couldn't advertise and now they’re the biggest advertisers on television and not only just television generally they broadcast the news and it's brought to you by Pfizer so I mean they're not going to bite the hand that feeds them. It's all the same clique and we’re the suckers".

Ok.. Matt has identified a singular problem in a corrupted system... everyone clap and give him a gold star.

He has pointed out the elephant turd on the parlor rug.

Now what?

How about shooting the elephant and removing it to the dumpster?

Time to repeal the 17th Amendment. It’s foundation all this type of malfeasance is built upon. The parties and lobbyists have the power.

That is interesting I never heard that before...

Makes sense because she seems dumb as a rock or as Matt says “couldn’t run a lemonade stand” 😂

What a system...

Lincoln? Your Yankee God-emperor was a full-on tyrant himself! He suspended the writ of habeas corpus, and he sent Sherman and Grant to burn out the Southern people, for the ‘crime’ of pointing out that the Yankees destroyed the Constitution, and later, the ‘crime’ of becoming an independent nation so that they could have the Founders’ vision of the Constitution again! Learn some history. At least learn an alternative view, perhaps by reading “The South was Right!” by the Kennedy twins, or the letters and speeches of Jefferson Davis (former US Senator from Mississippi, then President of the Confederacy).

Back in the 70s D. David Eisenhower II went to work for Bell Labs when it was still THE Bell Lab. I remember thinking at the time, “Maybe he’s not the big doofus I thought he was.”

For crying out Karen . . . Get over it. The South was wrong, the South lost, The South paid. God Bless the Union.

P.S. Mexico still remains an option for the unreconstructed.

“It would have died 160 years ago, but for Lincoln.”

Lincoln repudiated the Declaration of Independence and gutted the 9th and 10th amendments.

And levied war on the states.

What we have in Washington today is the result of the disaster at Appomattox. They had a majority of bayonets then, and now.

Ivanka's "intelligence" is overrated. And she looks creepy, plastic, and inhuman -- same as Jared.

She has movie star (or TV star at least) looks, and is always immaculately groomed and dressed. I would not say that is plastic looking, but I do get that she does not look like a "real every day person". However, you can say the same about Melania.

It's too bad Trump listened to the Kushners. They should have been relegated to helping him campaign and nothing else.

“One” of the The best ones, which was confirmed by one of my fraternity leaders in the History dept. was during the 2nd year, she was asked in class, who was supreme commander in WW2 for the allies, and she responded Patton’...and doubled down on the teacher glaring at him, I kid you not. The other students just looked at each other and some cant help snicker.

Ivanka has that cookie cutter look of so many celeb women -- that "Paris Hilton look," which Hilton popularized.

Identical blond hair and makeup, identical trimmed eyebrows (remember when woman had natural eyebrows in the 1980s?). And so much makeup or Photoshop/Instagram filtering, that her face does look plastic. She doesn't look real to me.

Funny. The drive for direct election of Senators started in the 1820s but really gained momentum after the Civil War. State legislators were being bought off and Senators were regarded as stooges for Gilded Age railroad magnates. Direct election was a populist/progressive era attempt to remedy that.

In some states yes... remember newspapers back then are like CNN today.

thanks to JP Morgan and a bunch of progressives. Advertised and sold via a corrupted media back then as a progressive solution... really it served the ultra rich and screwed the little guy, who it was supposed to enable. The rich rarely take a loss.

True there may have one or two state capitals corrupted now the entire federal government, minus a few players.
Its completely flipped.

Post 17th Amendment, it’s the parties and the lobbyists who decide who gets funded therefore who wins. Look at Mcstain, Kelly ayotte. Hell Joe Biden.

This then impacts the Judiciary..

Well past time to return to our Republic. I’ll take a few flawed State Capitols over an entire Fedzilla with a tax code that benefits the wealthy and large corporations.

Let’s eliminate the Senior Executive Service while we are at it.
