In 1966 I began attending USC, and my dorm was a half-mile walk from the Coliseum. I bought a season-ticket: $2.50 per game times 7 games, or $17.50 per year. I had the center seat ten rows up in the east end zone, and I watched Roman Gabriel and Dick Bass and Jack Snow and the Fearsome Foursome lose to the Vikings every year.
After a couple of years they raised prices on me: 4 bucks a game plus 3 preseason games, so now it was $40 a year. Instead, I got a job ushering, and now they paid me $6 a game.
Georgia Frontiere moved the Rams away, so I switched to the Packers--until the owners countenanced kneeling during the anthem. Haven't watched a game since. Couldn't care less.

My first ND game was their 51-0 blowout in '66. Arrived at 7:00 and left sadder but wiser at 4:30.
“Itβs still a good game to watch...”
This was a good game, but the NFL has to to something about the egregious missed calls from the refs that make it a joke.
The missed call on the 1st play of the 3rd quarter gave the Bengals 7 points instead of 2nd and 25, and could have cost the Rams the game. Not sure how they could miss it. There are several games each season where poor officiating changes the outcome, but the Super Bowl is supposed to be the best officiating team.
lose to the Vikings every year.
Yea tell me about it or loosing to the Cow Pies
I remember going to one of dam mud bowl playoff game in the in Coliseum in the pouring rain and the flu and a 104 fever to root these guy’s on and they still losts
We alse seem to have crap weather in the playoffs in LA
Went to the last Ram game in Anaheim before Georgia the husband murdering whore took them to Saint Louis and I never rooted for them again
From memory, the Miami Dolphins started adding three mandatory full price pre-season games to the season ticket package around 1970.
My Dad and I had top row east end zone seats in the Orange Bowl for several of the Dolphins best seasons.
The only score board in the stadium in those years was just a few feet behind our seats. When NFL Films shows Orange Bowl Dolphin games from the early 1970s, my Dad and I are in every shot of the game clock and score!
A couple times every decade, I channel surf into an old Dolphin game and get to see myself as a youngster just starting out in adult life.
What took you so long?
In Pittsburgh in 1966, my tickets cost $3/game or $21 per season.
I kept two season tickets until the early 2000s and sold the rights to buy them for $15,000 to a guy that lives on a PGA golf course in La Quinta.
He is a Steeler fan with his own plane and pilot.
My wife and I had a great time in the 70s, and the Steelers had the best defense of all time in 1976.
We lost 4 out of the five first games, and then won the next nine games.
In the final 9 games, we had five shut outs and gave up a total of 18 points.
That was the one year in the string of Super Bowl wins, that we didn't win the Super Bowl.
After the game, Coach McKay said, "forget it. After all, there are 700,000,000 Chinese who don't even know the game was played."
He also told his team, “Those who need showers, take them.”
I recall that playoff game in 1976 in which the Rams faced off against Dallas. It was a beautiful sunny day, the Rams had the home field advantage and were favored. They had beaten the Cowpokes 35-6 in the pre-season and had defeated the Steelers, the number one team in the NFL, a couple weeks earlier. Nonetheless, to my dismay, they played with what seemed to me little enthusiasm and were blown out, losing by about three or four touchdowns.
After that rocky start in ‘66, I’m OK with subsequent outcomes, on balance.
I am, too. After '66, we didn't lose to Notre Dame again until Richard Nixon's second term, and we turned the Rose Bowl into the USC Invitational Football Tournament.
Gotta love Coach McKay. I think the Old Head Ball Coach got a lot of his humor from playing for him in Tampa.
I have been suspicious of the NFL being fixed for some time now. I watched the refs screw the Cowboys and Dez Bryant out of a catch against the Packers back in 2015.
