In 1966 I began attending USC, and my dorm was a half-mile walk from the Coliseum. I bought a season-ticket: $2.50 per game times 7 games, or $17.50 per year. I had the center seat ten rows up in the east end zone, and I watched Roman Gabriel and Dick Bass and Jack Snow and the Fearsome Foursome lose to the Vikings every year.
After a couple of years they raised prices on me: 4 bucks a game plus 3 preseason games, so now it was $40 a year. Instead, I got a job ushering, and now they paid me $6 a game.
Georgia Frontiere moved the Rams away, so I switched to the Packers--until the owners countenanced kneeling during the anthem. Haven't watched a game since. Couldn't care less.
Gonna take some doing to replace the Packers owners.
The commissioner is a wuss. Replace him with Condi. Not my favorite republican but she would bring dignity and class to the league. The NFL today has neither and the current commissioner has no balls. She would make the felons pay and the rest of the league would follow.
It’s still a good game to watch, minus the showboating but that ain’t gonna stop. I watched Condi’s bf Gene Washington(49ers) get hit after the play many times when it was legal. He then got to hand out the fines from the front office after the playing days were over. She’d back him up.
I haven’t seen a minute of NFL play in three years.
Kneeling aside, its become a game for armchair lawyers and gossip columnists, not for sports fans.
Too many interruptions for virtually every nit picking thing. And honestly, does every player have a life story that starts with being born in a Mississippi tin shack?

If you followed the Trojans as well, you saw some great games.
I was also a big Rams fan during those years. In ‘68, we finally beat the Vikings, who were shorthanded because many players were out with the Hong Kong flu. But although the Vikings lost, they gave the virus to the Rams, who, in turn, lost to Chicago and were unable to make the playoffs.
Never missed an SC game. We won several national championships through the McKay and Robinson years.
From 1973 until 1999, I never missed a USC home game and that includes Rose Bowl games. At the 1974 Notre Dame game, I was in the student section—the happiest place on earth that afternoon.
