I can shift it, but I sure as heck am NOT going to go through all eight gears. My folks’ ‘68 Dodge Dart with three-on-the-tree worked fine. This eight gear nonsense is crazy (CVT automatics even worse!).

It all depends how heavy you are and the only time you use the clutch is to take off in first gear.

One of my Unimogs has 8 speeds forward, 4 reverse, four wheel drive and diff locks.
No problem.
