This is where I find it interesting....! Chapter 18 calls them “men “...save for the third “man” which in KJV, is referred to in the chapter as “The Lord!”

Verse 1 and verse 15 in Chapter 19 calls them angels but in the rest of the chapter, verses16, 12, and 16...they are referred to as “men”.

Thus my statement..” We assume they were angels but perhaps they were angels of limited knowledge and function. The Bible doesn’t actually call them “angels” per se.”
I had noted the use of the english term “men” in addition to the use of the terms “angels” so my statement should have been better crafted to have read...”Genesis 19 refers to them both as angels and as men” As to why the Hebrew that Moses recorded the story in was thus translated by scholars the way it was in KJV points to things in the spiritual dimensions being quite different than we could ever imagine.

Now better scholars might be able to explain the language peculiarities of the interchanging of the terms “men and angels” in chapter 19...perhaps some type of difference in the way 17th century English is used vs the way we understand English in the 21st.. I can consult a “Strongs” I guess to look at the way both terms are treated in the hebrew to English translations. My own view is to think of them as agents of God sent to do a mission, something more than men however, even angels in an elevated sense. We received the initial story as Moses received it and recorded it, from the Tribal narratives and from the inspiration of God as it moved upon him. Moses knew about angels of course, his writings in the first 5 books mention them multiple times. Why chapter 19 mentions the “agents” in question, “interchangeably” as “men” and “angels” might just come down to styles of language and translation that shouldn’t diminish the status of the “men” as being anything but heavenly beings of some status. If so, I will endure the public boxing and unstopping of my spiritual ears.

As for your other postings and Bible passages to me about the evils of homosexuality and the sins of Sodom....I have no disagreement with. It’s a message better sent to half of the people in our US legislative branches iof the house and the senate!

Verse 10,12 and 16 in Chapter 19 refers to them as “men”. As did the entire chapter 18.(save for the third “man” that Moses records as being “The Lord”).(”Before Abraham was...”, said Christ, “I AM!”)

Ref:”
Verse 1 and verse 15 in Chapter 19 calls them angels but in the rest of the chapter, verses16, 12, and 16...they are referred to as “men”.”

Caught the mistake too late.

At least there is no ambiguity over THIS verse:

Genesis 13:13
Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.
