I know many of you/ us don't want the United States involved in a war over Ukraine. I agree, though I believe there would be no invasion of Ukraine if Donald Trump were president.
I also love Tucker Carlson, he's the most worthwhile host on Fox.
However, I challenge anyone to justify the fanciful version of facts Tucker Carlson just put on with the help of Tulsi Gabbard.
The clear news today is that Joe Biden, for at least the second time, unequivocally announced that a Russian invasion of Ukraine cannot and will not be militarily opposed by the United States. Biden has practically invited Putin to invade, and the only action we will take are economic sanctions.
Ignoring this reality, Tucker instead said tonight we are "on the brink" of war with Russia in Ukraine. He didn't report on anything Biden said. Instead, his entire premise was that there are "some" Americans in Ukraine, including military personnell, and that if any of them get killed in the invasion "is it worth the risk?" Of WW3.
Folks, Biden just told all Americans to get out of Ukraine in 48 hours and stated we will NOT rescue them after that. So what the H is Tucker talking about?
This was followed by so much defeatist anti American, pro Russian propaganda, it made me sick.
Gabbard complained we are putting troops "in Europe". Not Ukraine, Europe.
She also said sanctions are a "modern day siege". OK so if Russia invades, even sanctions will be an act of war - by us.
We were also told the US cannot defeat Russia because we couldn't defeat even the Taliban.
And, Ukraine is an evil dictatorship unworthy of our help. In fact, they deserve being conquered by Russia. After all they're right next door.
Tulsi Gabbard has always been a kook on foreign policy, and sadly Tucker is her soulmate.
Whenever Tucker presents this issue, he flat out lies about what's going on. There is no move to fight Russia in Ukraine, Biden has been spineless and pathetic in (accidentally?) signaling that Putin can successfully roll over Ukraine.
I don't know why Tucker is so insistent that Russia must have Ukraine and there must be zero consequences. And that ANY opposition to Russia equals an attack on Russia.
My most charitable guess is that Tucker is an absolute Libertarian and isolationist, and that's a defensible position for discussion.
But that doesn't explain why he presents the surrounding facts in such a dishonest manner.
If any of you want foreign policy by Tulsi Gabbard, you can have her. She is a kook on international relations and always has been. We used to recognize that here.
Weakness leads to war, and that's why Ukraine is about to be invaded. Not because we "encircled" Russia.
And finally, DJT would not have tolerated Russian invasions in Europe, and who here believes Putin would invade if Trump were president? This is about Biden's weakness, an obvious fact Tucker is ignoring.
My prediction. We will not go to war and Ukraine will be in alliance with Russia by April.
The whole thing is about funding packages, as signed by congress.
It will work out Biden and Putin will get their 10 per cents.
What the hell has Russia got to say about Ukraine joining NATO?
They can join NATO without us putting three divisions there.
I call BS on the Russians being afraid of us invading Russia.
The Russians are trying to control Ukraine on the cheap.
I like that and it’s surely true.
All Biden has to do is tell Putin Ukraine well not join NATO….if they invade ban them from western banking and maybe we will stop importing Russian oil…at 90 dollars a barrel….
I don’t think it’s up to Russia to make decisions about Ukraine or NATO.
Ukraine was part of Russia for 400 years. Venezuela and Cuba, not so much.
Russia doesn’t want to have Ukraine. It’s a black hole & failing state. If the Ukrainians attack in Donbass, Russia will reunite with the parts of Ukraine that were Russian before Lenin drew the internal Soviet boundary and put them into today’s Ukraine (as Khrushchev did with Crimea). But hopefully that won’t happen.
“Ukraine that were Russian before Lenin drew the internal Soviet boundary and put them into today’s Ukraine “
To be clear neither the Donbass nor Crimea were Russian culturally until 1944 when Stalin deported the local Tartars and Cossacks and replaced them with Russian settlers.
There’s also this from Yahoo News:
About 6,000 troops have deployed from the U.S. to Europe, nearly all of whom are soldiers with the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. They’re backed by a growing array of military aircraft and rapid-response airmen who can quickly make airfield space to launch combat operations from anywhere.
US Air Force ramps up intel flights, weapons shipments to Ukraine
American fighter jets stationed elsewhere on the continent have moved farther east, including squadrons from Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany and RAF Lakenheath in England. B-52 bombers also arrived at England’s RAF Fairford on Thursday for a previously planned European rotation, as airlifters continue to jump around the region.
“And finally, DJT would not have tolerated Russian invasions in Europe”
He tolerated the 2014 seizures.
No POTUS would militarily oppose a Russian invasion of Ukraine...past, present or future.
It is to protect the Biden crime family, Ukraine, Russia, China. ALL our enemies own the Biden family.
Yeah I know what you mean. Though the exit from Afghanistan was um...not the way it should have gone. I get that we were there for way too long but...I don’t know. Who am I to say. I never served there.
As far as Russia is concerned, that’s a part of the world I know well and I agree...just because the American left used and uses Russia-Russia-Russia as a deploying tactic for so many things — it doesn’t mean that Putin is some great hero guy. It’s not even about him, so much as the system he’s spent his entire 20+ years in power resurrecting...albeit Russia’s still a shadow of its former Soviet self. The shadow is preventing countries like Ukraine and others (Kazakhstan) from true independence and progress.
When were you in Ukraine?
I’m not necessarily keen on sending U.S. troops to Ukraine, but I wouldn’t mind if Ukraine kicked some Russian ass. Putin is not our friend.
Untrue. Been to Russia (which is farther east than most of the former Eastern-Bloc countries) and while it was no United States, it wasn't really horrid.
Ukraine should be a rich country, instead it is like a third world sewer.
Why should any care if Russia does or doesn’t do anything in Ukraine. Our southern border is being deliberately destroyed and you are concerned about the Ukraine?
Who cares? Our southern border is being deliberately destroyed and you are concerned about the Ukraine?
Why should any American give a crap about the independence and as you so amusingly put it progress of Kazakhstan or the Ukraine? Our southern border is being deliberately destroyed and masses of turd world barbarians are being prepared to flood in. The Ukraine can F itself.
Maybe I can be concerned about both. Did you consider that possibility?
