Nigeria does have a reputation for specializing in economic crime. Avoid Muslims and it is probably safer for your person (if not your property) than Chicago or Baltimore city.

Never been to West Africa but I've traveled East Africa fairly extensively...mainly to visit wildlife parks. If it wasn't for that wildlife I sincerely doubt I would ever have bothered.
I'd like to go back once more...to see lowland gorillas...but West Africa doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Maybe he’s getting his hotel and transportation paid for by the govt. so he can attract tourists. I am sure there are some breathtaking cliffsides and waterfalls there, but I’ll pass for now.
Nigeria and Russia have turned crooked dealings into an art form. Who hasn’t laughed at stories about the “Nigerian Prince who needs your help in acessing his family fortune”? At the same time, many Nigerians who come to America are very hard working. So they come in at least two types.
