Former star of Netflix's "Cheer" Jerry Harris pleaded guilty in his federal child pornography case.
A judge in Chicago's federal court told Harris that he could face up to 50 years in prison, but his sentencing will take place in a June 28 hearing, according to TMZ.
The 21-year-old TV personality was arrested in September 2020 and charged in federal court in Chicago with producing child pornography.
He was featured in the first season of the hit cheerleading documentary series on Netflix, which debuted in early 2020. The aftermath of his arrest was featured prominently in the series' recently released second season.
Harris' lawyers said in a statement that he pleaded guilty because he "wishes to take responsibility for his actions and publicly convey his remorse for the harm he has caused the victims in this case."
The statement continues: "Jerry is a 22-year-old young man whose story can only be understood through the lens of the extreme poverty, sexual abuse, and neglect of his childhood. The criminal conduct in this sexualizing and sexually abusing children was far too common and too often overlooked."
Harris' lawyers also said that their client was "exploited, manipulated, and sexually abused as a child within the Cheer Community."

Me neither. When I saw the headline I thought “Cheers” and that “is anybody on that show from the 1980’s still young enough to be into porn?” LOL
Cheer is a series on Netflix. It follows cheerleaders at Navarro Community College in Texas. They compete and win often at national cheer competitions in Daytona.
If you like watching the real wife series, you will like the first year of Cheer. Enough said.

Heartless pervs.
It’s quite obvious that much our entertainment and some of the news is now produced by gays or pedophiles or out of self control heterosexuals. This is why the movies and news accentuate those topics till the behaviour appears to be part of normal human living. In reality the percentage of people like the characters are much less than the media projects them to be.
Just like we turned off most of the msm news, we need to turn off most the mainstream entertainment.
I know how it worked for me. You will not believe how unfettered your mind will feel.
This suprised me to learn about. I watched Cheer and was a Jerry fan. He was a hard worker and a great teammate. He obviously has a dark side.
He was actually PRODUCING child porn!

You can look at the rationalizing here.. and detect that the victims may not have at all been the “cheerleaders” but someone else. The points to him being neglected and victimized as a child point to a different possibility that is not discussed because of PC.

I misread and thought he starred on “Cheers.”
