Prince Harry has urged everyone to “go and get a test” for HIV after revealing hopes of carrying on his mother’s “unfinished” work.
The Duke of Sussex and ex-Wales captain Gareth Thomas, who are friends, chatted in depth on a 30-minute video call to mark National HIV Testing Week.
The duke described himself as “a typical guy” who just wants to “fix things”, and said he feels an “obligation” to try to continue Diana, Princess of Wales’ bid to remove stigma surrounding the illness.
Normalising HIV testing could help achieve the goal of ending new HIV cases in the UK by 2030, Prince Harry told the rugby star.
Speaking from California, Prince Harry said: “Every single one of us has a duty, or at least an opportunity, to get tested ourselves or to make it easier for everybody else to get tested. And then it just becomes a regular thing like anything else.
“This testing week, especially in the UK, or wherever you are in the world, go and get a test. Let people know that you know your status. Do it!”
Asked what made him so passionate about advocating over HIV, Harry said: “Once you get to meet people and you see the suffering around the world, I certainly can’t turn my back on that.
“Then add in the fact that my mum’s work was unfinished, I feel obligated to try and continue that as much as possible.

You should only need an HIV test if one of the following is the case.
You have engaged in deviant sex.
You have engaged in promiscuous sex.
You have shared needles.
You have been “vaccinated” for Covid.
Otherwise, you should be fine.

5. Insignificant, worthless celebrities often choose a cause that they claim to be passionate about, and go around annoying the hell out of everyone as they promote the cause that they really don’t give a hoot about.
6. The fact of a normal person getting tested for HIV has no effect on the people who are at risk for HIV. This is some kind of feel good, warm cuddly, solidarity thing worthy of his wife, and not of a normal macho man. (Which he is not).
