Vitamin D levels of more than 20 nanograms per milliliter are considered sufficient for most people
I have seen other information that 50-80ng/ml is the level that is most protective. I had a test recently and my Vit. D3 level was 52ng/ml. I take 5000 i.u. daily.

About six months ago, I had 43 ng/l taking 5,000. Just had blood drawn today for another test.

In June 2020 as Covid was declining in NY my Primary Care doc after my physical said she wanted me to take D3. My bloodwork said my score was 34, well above 20, but she wanted it higher, in the 50s.
