The Cowboys is one of the great western scores, IMO. "The Magnificent Seven"(the real one with Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Johnson) is the other.

"The Magnificent Seven"(the real one with Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Johnson Bronson) is the other.There are lots of great western scores. My favorite is The Big Country by Jerome Moross. Elmer Bernstein, who did The Magnificent 7 also did The Comancheros and The Sons of Katy Elder, which were great scores. Ennio Morricone's "spaghetti western" scores are also great.
