The biggest hit of 1976. Was 8 weeks on top of the Billboard chart. I'm partial to this group, since they were from the Upper Ohio river valley.

We did week long gigs at the Pub 47 on route 47. The old Staunton Parkersburg turnpike from the 1840’s. At about the same time!

I saw Wild Cherry in concert with Iron Butterfly in 1978 or 79 in Grand Forks, ND. Haven’t been to another rock concert since then.

True story:

In the Bay area, about 1990. My wife worked with the woman who's ex-husband was the guy who played the lead guitar on that "hook" of that famous tune. Her name was Joan, and she was about the most incredible pianist I have ever seen. She worked nights at Max's Opera Cafe in Walnut Creek.

Hehehe, those were the days BEFORE all the looting....
