What’s new?
Hi, Vision!
Hi Gina, having a good weekend?
It’s been a cold one, but sunny at least. How about you?
Cold, mostly in the 20’s but sunny. What can you do? (:
Yep. It’s surely winter. :-)
Oh, Big Town with Edward G Robinson. Nice.
Johnny Dollar without Bob Baily is, just ok.
Evening.
How’s it going?
Still nursing my way through this bug I got. Mainly a throat infection at this point. Make a good German pot roast for dinner tonight. Killer.
Sorry to hear it, did you lay off the brandy?
What makes it German?
Never got to the brandy. The biggest thing we actually did to the beef was to braise it, and put it the crock pot on low all evening with Knorr sauerbraten seasoning, mushrooms, sweet onion, fingerling potatoes, and a little extra vinegar and brown sugar. Makes the house smell good on a chilly night. You can stir in some crushed gingersnaps is you want to make the gravy thicker.
I looked up a recipe and saw beer and mustard. Looks good.
Forego the fingerling potates and serve with hot buttered spaetzle with the sauerbraten gravy on it.
