GoFundMe’s suspension of millions to support protesting truckers in Canada shocked many, particularly when the company initially announced its intention to distribute the money to other charities. It was less of a surprise for those of us who have criticized the company for years over its use of the platform to target and block funds for conservative and libertarian causes. Indeed, the company has revised an old practice known as the “Nag’s Head light” in luring the unsuspecting into what has become a liberal lockbox on funds.

They wanted to keep that money because they take a cut out of every dime donated. I don’t know what their cut would be out of ten million dollars. Probably a nice little sum for the scum.

They pulled the same scam with Rittenhouse, locking down his outside funding (around $2 mil, IIRC) until GiveSendGo.com stepped up and supported him.
They’ve attracted too much attention this time. May take until Jan 2023....but there’s some legislation coming to make their business dynamic a problem. They’ve become ‘judge-and-jury’ when it’s not their business.

The only reason that they DIDNT distribute the 10Million donation dollars for the truckers is because they got CAUGHT! If that is their policy model it makes me wonder how many other donations of past campaigns were redistributed?!

More than that. Leftists use ideology as a mandatory hire/fire/promotion criterion, rather than merit. Once they get into a leadership position in an organization, this tactic causes the organization to veer inexorably to the left. Conservatives need to do the same, to some extent, or they will always lose whatever they create.

Basic contract law.
When donors gave money they entered into a contract. If Go Fund Me unilaterally changed the terms of that contract after the fact they are guilty of breach of contract.
If the terms of the Go Fund Me contract prohibited protest fundraising but allowed this fundraising and then cut off the fundraising, Go Fund Me is guilty of fraud.
If this fundraising was prohibited by the Go Fund Me's terms of use why did Go Fund Me allow the fundraising in the first place?
If Trudeau contacted Go Fund Me and asked them to end the fundraising, that's criminal conspiracy.
If Go Fund Me claims criminal acts negate the contract, they will have to explain why Black Lives Matter was funded during *government imposed curfews*, riots, destruction of property, looting, and arrests.*
If this is left unchallenged, any business can confiscate anyone's money at any time for any arbitrary and capricious reason.

One thing no one has mentioned is the amount of interest GFM has earned on the $10M...
First they earned a lot of interest on the money, then decided not to give it to those for whom it was meant and instead to distribute to charities they themselves prefer, but the entire time, the $10M was earning interest for them, and would have continued to do so as they figured which would be the lucky recipients.
Well, that didn’t work, but they are still earning interest as they refund the money s l o w l y.
