Barrasso on Fox: I voted to certify the election and I think Mike Pence did his constitutional duty that day. It's not the Congress that elects the President, it is the American people.

Only if the election is not fraudulent Barassho. Otherwise unknown entities are installing a fraud as president.
If the Electoral College ‘fails’ (no 270 vote winner), then this goes in the new year to the House, where the top three vote-getters are given a review....state by state (House members) and the first person to get 26 state votes...is then President.
The only scenario that would be worth entertaining....if the voting system is truly screwed up...then having three people divide up the Electoral Vote (say one wins ten states, one wins 20 states, and an another one wins 20), would make an entertaining situation. No 270 winner.
This would tear the guts out of the corrupted vote system, and leave it for House members to correct. In this case, it might take six weeks to get people lined up to vote along the lines of 26 states for one candidate.
It's not the Congress that elects the President, it is the American peopleIn 2020 it was not "the American People", it was a concerted effort of Fox News among other low-life Trump haters.
You must be a running dog of capitalism.
“the states actually”
Ding ding ding....we have a winner.
Many states continue to elect and re-elect Bush League Republicans who continue to assist the Democrats in the destruction of the country.
In 2022 FL and ND have Amnesty Senators up for re-election.
And they’ll be sent back no matter how many times they’ve screwed the people.
It’s almost like a game with them.
What do the Federalist Papers say about it?
You write: “The question is why did the Founders insist that Congress and the VP certify the election results?
If not to reject fraudulent elections than why do those powers exist?”
Precisely! However, the founding fathers could in no way imagine the cowardice of a Congress or Vice President unable to respond to an obviously fraudulent election.
Why is The Turtle continuing to push his Turtlelets out on the stage to continue to bash Trump?
Why do they enthusiastically do so?

Whoever counts the votes elects a president.....
“We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics,” Biden said in the video.
Federalist papers are not policy, nor are they law.
It’s better to stick with the law. For the record, though, Jefferson in the Declaration said that it was the “PEOPLE” of the united colonies, not the “colonies” that declared their independence. So there’s that.
All in all, the elector system was pretty brilliant, and interesting that the Founders did not put in a “faithless elector” clause themselves.
They are all fully committed to the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) and Trump is a threat to that plan.
...they wanted the certification of the election by the outgoing VP as a final check and balance...
If they were worried about the central government's power why would the want an agent of that government, the VP, to be able to override the states' certified selection of electors?
Sen. Barr-is-asshoe. Another worthless Republican.
Suppose to be but doesn’t appear so in the last election one of the shadiest elections I ever seen.
JFK kick box
Sort of a yes and no. The state legislatures choose how their Electors are selected. Currently, all state legislatures have chosen to hold an election by the people in their state and let the outcome of that election decide who their Electors will be. Most of the states have a winner-take-all system but a few can split their Electors.
IMHO, the state legislatures should have realized that the 2020 election had many, many problems and should've taken direct control and chosen the Electors they believe their constituents wanted. They had that power but chose not to do so.
What brassomis tryingmto, cover up is the fsct that Trump wasn’t asking, pence to elect anyone, nor congress. All he was doing was saying that there are serious problems with the election, and that an independent I vestigstion needed to take place to see if the election was legally done, and if not, then to not certify the results so that the problem could be addressed properly
Pence had the right to say that something didn’t loo, right, and without cittificztion until a review coild be made. The people’s votes were still the thing that would get someone elected, not congress or pence.
