90 Day Fiancé's Geoffrey Paschel receives 18-year prison sentence over kidnapping and domestic assault conviction in 2019 incident in Tennessee

90 Day Fiance alum Geoffrey Paschel received an 18-year prison sentence without the chance of parole on Thursday in a Knoxville, Tennessee court, in connection with his conviction of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and interference with emergency calls.

Paschel, 44, was found guilty of the multiple charges last October in connection with a June 9, 2019 incident with his former fiancée Kristen Wilson, US Weekly reported.

In the incident, Wilson told Knox County Sheriff's Office deputies that Paschel had attacked her, grabbed her neck and struck her head into a wall multiple times. Wilson told authorities that Paschel had thrown her body on the ground and dragged her on the floor.

Officials observed that Wilson had bruises on her forehead, back, arms and mouth in the wake of the incident, and was subsequently diagnosed with a concussion.

Wilson told authorities that Paschel would not let her have her phone or leave the property in the incident, as she was able to escape when he went to sleep and she went to a neighbor's house to contact authorities.

In his trial in Knox County Criminal Court last fall, the District Attorney General's Office told WBIR, Paschel told the court that Wilson had injured herself. The trial was concluded in two days, officials said.

In his sentencing, prosecutors said that Paschel should be deemed a Range-II Offender, based on past drug convictions, and testimony from Wilson and his ex-wife that he was physically abusive with them. Prosecutors also displayed a clip in which Paschel, while in jail, solicited people to bring his kids to Wilson's home to try to persuade her to ask the court to be lenient on him.

Paschel in 2020 was seen on the fourth season of the program 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, in which he

I am guessing that his cute girlfriend has not stood by him through this? I think she was from Ukraine?

She seems to be standing by him for now. She posted a pic of a birthday cake for what would have been his son’s 5th birthday which was so vile.

My daughter wanted me to watch it with her after watching some clips of it online. It is unintentionally hilarious and we make so much fun of it. They need to do background checks though.. this one is not the first one that had a criminal record.

They MIGHT be doing background checks, but not the way you think. The more POS a person is, the more online forums talk about them, and the more people will check out their show. (Upping the ratings, and increasing the amounts they can charge advertisers). There have been SEVERAL people on the show with records, or other dubious things in the their backgrounds, and the show has shrugged them off.

My wife and I did the K-1 visa that this show is based on (was approached to be on season 2, glad I didn’t!). And in the early seasons the show was about people from different cultures getting married, and trying to navigate the process. It has since transformed into a platform for famewhores, and people who want to make money on OnlyFans after their time on the show ends. As a result, the quality of the show has tanked.

I am not much of a TV watcher, for any genre. But I have been watching 90 Day for a few months now. Do you ever catch the “pillow talk” ones? Those are the best.

I think it is just an escape, and yes, unintentionally hilarious.

Yes, watching them poke fun at other people on the show while we do the same is hilarious.

My wife watches 90 day shows. He was a creep, you could read him from miles away.

The 18 years sentence is a bit strong though. Not that I think it unfair, it is more than murderers, pedophiles, rapists, BLM or auntee FA looters get by 17-18 years.

The lady he was convicted of criminal activity against is “one of those women”. Some people just attract wife beaters to them. My wifes Sister was beaten by 3 different husbands. The kicker is, my Wife used to date her first husband while in her 20’s, and said he never raised his voice, or a hand towards her. She describes him as a gentleman, and her family member as, “some people just don’t know when to shut up and love to fight”.... Of course alcohol fueled.

I totally agree, but on a personal note:   I met my wife on a blind date May 5th and married her June 28th.   Our next anniversary will be our 48th year together.   As neither of us have any life threatening illness, I think we'll make it to fifty years.   It has always been just the two of us against the world.

A little additional note:   I remembered her face on the playground in elementary school, a class behind me.   She was in my brother's room in first grade.   In that respect I knew of her in the little community we came from.   Both of our families had moved away from the area and then returned to our little community after we had graduated from high school, I in Virginia, she in another small town in Georgia.

Reality is always the best, but we both still watch "The Curse of Oak Island."   The ten foot caissons are on site now.

I almost posted on this today.

I agree on the sentencing. To be sure he beat that woman hard, very evil deed and he should serve some hard jail time. But 18 years and NO POSSIBILITY of parole??? I looked up the sentencing for 2nd degree murder in Tenn and it’s 15 to 25 (I think the upper), I’m fairly sure parole is possible.

He didn’t even attempt to kill her and he gets 18. A little harsh, surely a decade of his life behind bars would suffice.

I heard they pay very little and the show is scripted. I don’t think they want nice, normal couples in love.

Yes, in the early days, they paid very little (something like $900 for every episode you appeared on, and $2000 for appearing on the Tell-All at the end of the season).

If you have no drama in your relationship, they’ll make up some for you. And yes, the LAST thing that they want is “normal couples who get along”. People watch it to see the dumpster fires.

Just another of the everyday Americans who finds themselves attracted to the opportunity for fame and fortune in Hollywood’s “entertainment industry.”
