“I have some of his newer stuff, really good.
Here is one with Mark Knopfler: Dancing Girl - Dion”

Incredible! Thanks!

Another 1961 classic:

My brother bought a metallic blue one in '68 for $300. Sold it to me three years later for $400 (he had put new tires and rims on it.)

Great car

A fantastic post for the 63rd anniversary of “The Day The Music Died”, February 3rd, 1959. Dion was on that tour.

1961. I was 13 years old.
My folks and I sailed from Yokohama to Oakland on an MSTS ship after nearly a decade overseas. California looked damned good to me...

One day it was Pat Boone and Patty Page, and the American Dance Band..
The next.. The Beetles landed...

One of my sons loved the new sound..

Dion was invited to accompany the group but decided that he did not want to spend $36 for the flight, as it was the same monthly rent his parents paid for his childhood apartment and he could not justify the indulgence

1961 was when Del Shannon’s top single “Runawau” was released.

This is one of my favorites from 1961. It's full of celebrities including Congo-Leopoldville premier Patrice Lumumba, Cuban premier Fidel Castro, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev, Indian premier Jawalharlal Nehru, Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy, and so on. In a later version, Lumumba's reference was cut out following his murder in January, 1961.

Hit the Road, Jack!

After he hit the road and departed, Jack got back on his feet, started making good money, and even bought a Cadillac. Now she wants him back, but he's not so sure he wants to return.

Well, I Told You--The Chantels (1961)

Never heard that version before. It’s good, but I prefer the Dion version. Of course, sometimes we prefer a version because it’s the first version we heard and therefore the first version is the way we think it should be done. But Dion didn’t mess with it; he gave it his Philly, juvenile delinquent snarl, but the arrangement was similar.

Speaking of Philly, here's a dance tune from there. Cal Tilley, the lead singer, posted in the comments section on the Youtube post.

This one has the high performance flags in the trim.

Its possible it could have the 409 motor in it

Ours was a standard 283. I only picked that picture because of the size and I am not adept at resizing picture so as to make them friendly to post in this format.
