Absolutely hilarious movie that condemns incompetent big government and the unholy alliance of Big Tech and Big Government.
It was supposed to be lefty propaganda for anti-global warming, but it came across as a very conservative-themed movie roasting everything about government.
Nice!
“Absolutely hilarious movie”
I thought it was entertaining and pretty funny. I did not see it as a metaphor for climate change, or covid, or anything except maybe the incompetence of government. I guess some people can read anything into anything. If there was a specific political message it wasn’t a good one because I missed it.
Disclaimer for future reference: I did not pay to see it. I don’t pay for streaming, cable, or satellite.
Very funny movie, more so in Spanish, watched in Spanish with my Gf.
Based upon your comment, I’m watching it now.
As of this moment, I’ve seen nothing funny and am ready to shoot DiCaprio.
The irony is not lost upon me, however, and I want to see where they take this.
But this Rip scene is killing me.
It was a thinly veiled satire of the Trump crowd. It was funny, I admit, but also quite insulting.
I agree and the people they were mocking was pretty good…Mika and the character that was a combo of Elon gates and Bezos. I didn’t see it as a totally left wing movie it was more like they were mocking the left in my view.
That was how I saw it. Basically satire aimed at the over the top leftists and elitists. Of course they are so convinced of their own intelligence and superiority they probably only saw the superficial message - gosh, bad things are coming and we must lead! LOL Yeah, and how did that work out? {spoiler alert} Earth destroyed, protagonist eaten by aliens...
That’s what I got out of it. Yes, it was dark satire, I think brilliantly done.
My problems with it, WAAAAY too much bad language, and the sex and nudity were unnecessary.
I’m no prude, stop beating us over the head with the language-before I retired, most of what I would hear in the shop was EF this and EF that, and I wasn’t without guilt, because I said my share of four letter words.
It was supposed to be lefty propaganda for anti-global warming, but it came across as a very conservative-themed movie roasting everything about government.
That's my take on it, too.
