“It’s time to use the money you saved up.” What money?
—
Yeah. I keep hearing that thing about money and it is definitely mystifying. Must be for the well-healed set who inherited daddy’s fortune via one or more trust funds, or people who won life’s lottery. The rest of us, not so much.
I unfortunately live in the leftist hellhole of New York, not by my own choice, where the state does everything it can to steal as much money as they possibly can from its residents so they can give it away to bums who don’t want to work, criminal foreign invaders and government employees who must have millionaire pensions.
some of us did save our money and enjoying these later years. Retired 2 years ago and having fun, for me, mostly travel. No trust fund or daddies money here just mom and dads good lessons on thrift and savings.
Retired at 60, spent first 6 years of "retirement" rebuilding our Victorian era money pit.
That meant moving over 88,000 pounds of rock over 100 feet by hand and similar amount of concrete in by hand, roofing, siding, structural, etc.
In the last year, at 66 and now 67 years old, have finally been building my own business and the income is going up.
Taking a small amount to time for snowmobiling with my Skidoo Expedition, exploring with our Unimogs, snowshoeing, hiking, etc.
Oh yes, and Ham radio, for rally sprints, Climb to the Clouds, New England Forest Rally, etc.
