Hey hey. Was waiting for this thread. If someone knows what this fabric is I would love to get some more. I am fairly sure it is 100% cotton, the weave is open. I have found lots of similar on Google images. Pic below.

These are incredibly cute!
Did you do them the way people put together big quilts, with strips of material?

Yes, you could be right, I did see a picture of the Hardanger Fabric at your link that looked to be about the closest. I bought a good sized remnant years ago and it is almost gone. I would love to find an exact match.

Like we make it ourselves? Huh? I don’t get what you’re asking.
I crochet. And I can sew a straight line...and that’s about it. I have no idea why I’m hosting this thread, LOL!

hello,
it was a really general question as i’d never heard of it before a few days ago and was curious as to what other uses it had
i knew kinda what it was but dint know there was a name for it
the item in question was like a pressed slurry of cotton
ie felt is a non-woven fabric
i was wondering if anybody uses it
thx

I think she was replying to your question about the embroidery fabric.
Chode, interfacing is used behind some fabric or between two pieces to keep the fabric slightly stiffer. It is also used at other times, for instance, to strengthen a fabric someone is embroidering.
Remember those summer dresses that were long and buttoned down the front? A lot of them had interfacing on the fabric behind the buttons as the light fabric would otherwise be easily pulled out of shape.

Wow, that must have taken some patience to work with such small bits! But they turned out beautifully!
