The claim is likely being fought by insurance companies at this point.
If you look at Craigslist most of the dogs are pit-bull or pit-bull mix. Not sure if that is indicative of the dog population in general.

And, from what I see of them, in that these happy new owners are incredibly incapable of handling them (including my next door neighbor whose pit-mix charged my dogs and me a few weeks ago -- thankfully for it, it responded to my commands to stop while the family ran in circles yelling at it), many of these dogs will be up for re-adoption soon.
Pit bulls are overrepresented in shelters. They're popular here in PA but still the shelters are overloaded with them.
It is not.
PBT have never been popular. Only in the last couple decades, going along with all the other liberal wishy-washy absurdities that have come to a head since 2019, have PBTs of various stripes shown up much out in the regular neighborhoods. Because they are victims of “racism”, and misunderstood, and abused, and that’s why they’re bad. Which is liberal nonsense.
Even today, even if you see more on a regular basis, they are not as popular as might seem.
They are in the kennels not because they’re popular, but because they are a train wreck.
