I haven't followed the NFL in years, but based on the NYC headlines I've seen it looks like the Giants first hired Buffalo's assistant GM to be their new GM, and then he promptly hired Buffalo's offensive coordinator -- who was widely seen as a top candidate for a head coaching job across the entire NFL -- as the new head coach.
I don't GAF how it all shakes out, but it seems ludicrous to put a pro sports team in a position where they know who they want to hire as a head coach, but they have to pretend they're interested in other candidates just to accommodate the league's stupid "diversity" rules.
