I guess there was some massive, long lived event over the country last night. Something left a trail about 400 miles long.
That being said, it was either really big with a shallow approach, or something huge that was taken out high up. The length of the trail (or light an sound) would be relative to the height in the atmosphere.

That sounds like a lot of fun.
We had this happen in the TN/KY/VA border area about a month ago around midnight. There were two audible booms and it was heard from Johnson City TN to London KY.
Well, it’s illegal! So obviously they would never do it! That’s the way our laws work, you outlaw something and then it doesn’t happen! Right?
