Sometimes it takes a reputable study to convince the bureaucrats of what Captain Obvious and all the rest of us could have told them long ago.

So how long will it take the obvious to trickle all the way over to California?

Things are still pretty insane here.

It doesn’t get more legit than Johns Hopkins. Now let’s see what the leftist/globalist filth’s next move is to keep lockdowns going is. Climate “emergency?” No matter - whatever it is, the only ones who’ll be kowtowing to it this time around will be those who belonged to the minor pseudo-religious Covidic cult and the relatively small number of demented leftist filthbags who are terrified of being mistaken for “conservatives” or “racist,” “White Supremacist” Trump supporters.

--- "It doesn't get more legit than Johns Hopkins."

I agree with youre assessment of "leftist/globalist filth," but as to Johns Hopkins, they have an interesting credibility problem because of the their Coronavirus Resource Center's constant Covid drumbeat.

According to that very official university site:

As of 1 February 2022,

( 5,674,493 "JHU official" global deaths / 7,924,043,134 global population ) x 100 = 0.072 %,

Less than eight one-hundredths of one percent "Covid" deaths over more than two years is the "legit" toll of the WHO-spawned, China-encouraged pandemic.

The study states on page 44, "Lockdowns have not been used to such a large extent during any of the pandemics of the past century. However, lockdowns during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic have had devastating effects. They have contributed to reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence, and undermining liberal democracy. These costs to society must be compared to the benefits of lockdowns, which our meta-analysis has shown are marginal at best. Such a standard benefit-cost calculation leads to a strong conclusion: lockdowns should be rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument."

So, using your sharp descriptive, "leftist/globalist filth" have succeeded in "reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence, and undermining liberal democracy."

Many of the those "leftist/globalists" have been at work in American and British universities and governments. The data as of over two years proves this. "Legit" JHU indicts itself. Ironic, isn't it?

THEIR CONCLUSION:
“Finally, allow us to broaden our perspective after presenting our meta-analysis that focuses on the following question: “What does the evidence tell us about the effects of lockdowns on mortality?” We provide a firm answer to this question: The evidence fails to confirm that lockdowns have a significant effect in reducing COVID-19 mortality. The effect is little to none.

“The use of lockdowns is a unique feature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lockdowns have not been used to such a large extent during any of the pandemics of the past century. Such a standard benefit-cost calculation leads to a strong conclusion: lockdowns should be rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument.”

“The cure may be worse than the disease” ~ Donald J. Trump

Throughout never did out government bring social scientists on board to at least contribute to any cost benefit analysis. The harm this failure wrought is incalculable.

I think basically forever. The study is an economic based study, with lots of overseas connections and most importantly uses logic which we all know isn’t anywhere as good as emotional propaganda to further political control...

It will be over in California when the people rise up and shut the state down (basically never I think) or the powers that be decide they have milked the crisis for all it is worth.

Yes. Minor quibble, but still annoying when it happens.
