My inspiration came from What's the Mashup? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmnSm...) but I didn't manage 100! The idea was to do the same for movies from the Golden Age – meaning no title later than 1953 (although there is one at the end.) Oh, and none of these clips was sped up or slowed down.

I discovered Charles Aznavour 53 years ago and have been addicted ever since.

This was excellent the folks that put it together are extremely talented can’t even imagine the never ending hours it took!! There is another with OLD movies that is also just AMAZING, same music!!
AC/DC plays George Benson's "On Broadway" !- (amazing rare footage !!! )

(btw, George Benson my ass. Yes, he covered it back in the mid-1970s, when we were bombarded by cover specialists like Linda Rondstadt)
Speaking of old movies, this one kicked my ass the first time I saw it, less that 15 years ago. It's a snip from the movie of the same name, Gene Kelly's first picture, and Judy Garland was an established star. Need I say, they don't make 'em like those two anymore. The movie kinda sucked, but while I profess to not like musicals, some are worth seeing just for the musical performances.
For the first time in stereo, here is this George W. Meyer, Edgar Leslie, and E. Ray Goetz song, with a new verse by Roger Edens that makes the whole song better!Judy Garland Stereo - For Me and My Gal - Gene Kelly 1942 | June 4, 2015 | Broadway Classics
Later recorded by many different artists (most successfully by The Springfields in 1962 https://youtu.be/HuCC2Vhxnjk ), this debut version by country artist Jackson includes the entire original lyric which is not frequently heard.
The original single was issued on Capitol 3575 - Silver Threads And Golden Needles (Jack Rhodes-Dick Reynolds) by Wanda Jackson, recorded September 20, 19561st RECORDING OF: Silver Threads And Golden Needles - Wanda Jackson (1956) | July 10, 2019 | the45prof

Dog and Butterfly is still my favorite from them.
Back in the day they had TALENT, they could act, sing, dance, play instruments they could DO IT ALL, not like the untalented bunch in Hollywood today!! You look back at these talents and are in total AWE!! The Hollywood types today could only DREAM of having this talent!! The music also OMG Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, musicians today have SO MANY sound effects ect. their talent will NEVER compare to past musicians NO WAY!!!
Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile
If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile
When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for while
There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for while
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for while
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for while
Sometimes when you're doing simple things around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile
You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for while
Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you
Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for while
These wheels keep turning but they're running out of steam
Keep me in your heart for while
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for while
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo

You see this with artists sometimes- it’s a little window into who the musicians have professional respect for. I remember Keith Urban come onstage to “Ragdoll” by Aerosmith. I’ve heard him play “Wichita Lineman” by Glen Campbell and “Sister Golden Hair Suprise” by America during sets as well.

I've been wanting to record this song ever since I bought this Guild 12-String back in april 2021, but never got around to doing so.
But now, almost a year later I finally managed to record an acoustic version.
It's definitely more in the style of how SRV did this song, but I didn't try to copy anything note for note and just had fun with the song. Hope you enjoy!

Yup. They came from a different tradition (Vaudeville) that meant a lot of itinerant song and dance skills, plus schtick, what passed for standup comedy. Cagney could really pull off pretty much everything.
