Ten ideas for a New Contract With America
American Thinker ^ | 30 Jan, 2022 | Steven J. Maricic

In 1994, the Republicans articulated a clear vision for America and regained Congress for the first time in over 40 years. It’s time to repeat that process.

“What are Republicans for?” asked Joe Biden at his recent press conference. It’s an important question, and it calls for a simple and clear answer. We Republicans need to write a New Contract With America, packed with ideas that will resonate with American voters in 2022. Here are some suggestions:

1. We will “Refund, Reform, and Respect the Police!” We will do whatever we can to end the crime wave devastating American neighborhoods.

2. We will make America energy independent again!

3. We will bring vital industries back to America!

4. We will take politics out of the Supreme Court.

5. We will respect parents’ rights to guide their children’s education!

6. We will finish the wall on our southern border and institute policies that control cross-border traffic.

7. When the wall is complete and the border situation stabilized, we will pass legislation to tie legal immigration and temporary work visas to the unemployment rates in America

8. We will rein in the power of the Tech Giants and limit their ability to stifle free speech!

9. We will do whatever is possible to help small companies recover from the devastating hits they have taken over the last two years.

10. Our foreign policy and our defense policy will be guided by Ronald Reagan’s wise maxim “Peace Through Strength!”

And how are you going to get them to do this?

“8. We will rein in the power of the Tech Giants and limit their ability to stifle free speech!”

Isn’t that the same as stifling free speech?

Yes to a Contract with America, and hold them accountable. But, I don’t think number 8 goes far enough. If we don’t roll back the snowballing technocracy immediately, we will all be tagged and tracked via social credit scoring. Vax passes, IRS face scan, Buttigieg’s cameras everywhere. And that’s just from today’s headlines. Imagine the future they have planned for us deplorables and unacceptables. Without freedom of speech and without privacy, the rest won’t matter.

Number One:

Honest and transparent elections that can be quickly and forensically audited.

Election fraud is our nation’s **most** urgent and important threat. Without this our nation is lost.

What are Republicans for? asked Joe Biden.

Hopefully to stop your Communist agenda, Joe.

A new contract may be going back to the well too soon. Millennials and young voters don’t remember-28 years ago. The issue is going for broke this time around.

We’ll should take the house but the Senate will be much closer You don’t want to go for broke unless we can come out with 55 or 56 of those six-year seats. The last contract was unveiled on Sept. 28, 5 weeks before the election. Condensed for the short attention spans out there. It left the rats flailing.

Perhaps it’s the Senate candidates that should present the next contract. Fewer of them. The house can follow and explain to their locals. Taking back Az., Ga.,NH.,NV. may be doable WITHOUT a contract. Assuming we keep our existing seats that’s 54. Any of the rest could be a bridge too far. ‘Soften’ the contract enough to still force the rat incumbents to still act cornered-think Chucki.) Then there are the rinos who could win-Hogan/Vt. & Ma. Governors). It set’s up 2024 for Trump to administer the coup de grace. Sinema, Tester Stabenow, Rosen(NV.),Brown(Oh.) will be up. So will Mancin.

We may not even need Trump. He’d doing the heavy lifting NOW. Behind the scenes. If he still turns off the suburban housewives the rats will paint him as a political rapist, maybe even a real one. Perhaps Trump Jr. should take on Chuckie this year. He’ll lose but Chuckie will have to spend money.

On second thought it should not originate in the Senate. Too few targets for the rats. Certain states can stuff the ballots in big cities but can’t do it in very many house races. Don Jr’s girlfriend won’t help but it’s NY. Chuckie is unlikable so perhaps it’s better having him lead his flock instead of defending his own perimeter. Alternative-Justice Jeanine. Well known, outspoken and hopefully learned from the earlier mistakes against Hillary. Think the Jerry Springer Show.

Honest and transparent elections that can be quickly and forensically audited.

I really like that one!

President Trump last night in Texas outlined an ideal itemized list of such an agenda. If you don’t have an hour, or so, to view the whole thing, just check out the last 15 minutes.

The only problem with it is that it would take too many pages of reading to keep the attention of many of the target audience of non-believers. A simple one page bullet list, with details following would do the trick.

2. End Government schools.

At a minimum allow school reform thru competition and vouchers.

*Honest and transparent elections that can be quickly and forensically audited.*
No-just call for voter ID. The KISS rule. (Attention spans). They’ll go on to the next one quicker.

*“8. We will rein in the power of the Tech Giants and limit their ability to stifle free speech!”* Come on. Just say break up big tech. That’s what starts the conversation.

*get rid of most federal departments and federal regulations….money goes back to the states…a 1950s federal government*
No. Time will be wasted explaining/defending the SPECIFICS the left brings up.

*foreign policy and our defense policy will be guided by Ronald Reagan’s wise maxim “Peace Through Strength!”*
No domestic only. Foreign policy is too complicated.

*Seems like somewhere in there should be a simple statement about restoring our Constitution as the law of the land.*
No. Too much information to research. Most don’t even know the Bill of Rights. We all know that here.

*it would take too many pages of reading to keep the attention of many of the target audience. A one page list, with details following would do the trick.*
BINGO!
*

We will take politics out of the Supreme Court.

Nope. That's how we get squishes like Roberts while the left gets solid blocks of reliable votes on the court. Have there been many cases where their side's votes are in question upon hearing the topic of the case?

No vouchers. The reason many pay high taxes and buy expensive houses is so their children don’t have to go to school with ghetto trash.

Nothing on the list about forcing people to take the vaccine or lose their jobs. This DIRECTLY AFFECTS everyone.

Number 9:

9. We will do whatever is possible to help small companies recover from the devastating hits they have taken over the last two years.

Should be modified to add that.

Come on. #9 is too vague. There is a place for vagueness when specifics are counterproductive. I forgot the vaccine. Our position should be no mandates-period. Let the left disagree with broken-record-sounding cliches.
