The Romans over 2,000 years ago were able to engineer ways to bring water from the mountains to Rome, a city of over one million people.

There is knowledge and technology that would solve California’s water problem, if they wanted to solve it.

But for some reason the socialist fail to provide the citizens with this basic need.

The Romans would build desalination plants, if they were in change of California today. Interesting enough, California's climate is Mediterranean, similar to Italy.

It's not rocket science, we have the technology and the economic resources to do so. We simply lack the political will to do so.

“..There is knowledge and technology that would solve California’s water problem, if they wanted to solve it....”

Uh...well...that would take a modicum of intelligence.
That’s something the communists tend to be light in the loafers on.

There used to be an occasional effort to secure water from the mouth of the Columbia and pipe it down to LA. I recall one advocate saying that the widdle kiddies might not have water in their swimming pools if they didn’t get the water. Oregon’s usual response: “Cry me a river.”

_________

It is “The environment” stupid!
E.g. California can easily get water from the Pacific ocean. The technology has been pretty refined, it is cheap and safe now.
But, there is a “problem?!” with the salty water which is the byproduct of this process.
Sane people would just say “Why not just to dump it into the ocean?” There is an infinite amount of salt there, little bit more would do not harm. Oh no, the Californians reply. “It may do some harm! Who knows, we better do not do anything.”
