It’s not like they are being allowed to do their jobs anyways. They might as well keep busy and at least provide support and comfort for the grieving families of their compatriots.

Cops are not special. If a military guy dies in the line of duty, (a more noble job than any cop) what do they get ?
If a grandfather in a nursing home dies because of bad choices his governor made, what does he get ?
Cops can have all the funerals and processions they want, they can even use public assets like cop cars, but I do not want to pay them for the time, especially if they would be getting overtime which I find likely.
