Most of the planet will not be using, Nor want ev’s. Other countries you can buy manual transmission trucks for 15-20k still, because they’re not forced by those countries to install complex electrical systems prone to failure by law. People like those cheap simple cars. I wanted to bring a 2016 ford ranger, 5 banger diesel with a 6 speed manual into america, from mexico.,Woulda been able to get it 8 k cheaper after all the importing fees, then my 2016 escape I ultimately got. Woulda gotten better mileage as well. Couldn’t import it because it didn’t pass emission laws.
They’re switching to electrical because they’re being forced by US.
So far by law in USA.
Mandated OBD systems, reverse cameras, tpms sensors, internal trunk latches, airbags, computer emissions systems. also of note is by law, they are forced to provide lifetime warranty on all airbags and other restraint systems including seatbelts and the clocksprings they wire airbags through on the steering wheels. Those are off the top of my head, plus they get fined if their “fleet wide mpg” isn’t something outrageous like 30mpg. Which is only possible with ev’s. Why else was VW cheating emissions tests? Because their expectations are impractical with current technology combined with their bs emissions.

200,000 PAID preorders for the Ford Lightning and Ford cut off orders..that is not buying at gunpoint.
Tesla sold 495k in 2020 and 900k in 2021 and could have sold 200k more but supply chain issues held them back.
In regards why car companies want EV’s. Their eventual goal is to get rid of the dealer and have consumers buy direct. Ford announced they will no longer build a vehicle unless it is pre sold to a customer this starts in 2023.
My client owns a large regional Chryser dealership. The regional rep said when EV”s come into play 75-80’s of his mechanic staff/service writers will no longer be needed. Service work is where they make all their money.
Millenials and younger do not want to go to a dealer they want to buy online ala, Carvana. Just ask any insurance agent, accountant etc who still comes into their office ..old geezers 50 on up.

Norway, Finalnd, UK have sold more EV’s than diesel.
Ford ‘s new hybrid pickup the maverick so many they stopped taking order at over 200k sold.
You may not want an EV (yet) but plenty of people find them to suit their needs.
Electric plus the ability to remote shut off the car (in democrat bill) is one reason plus you would be charged per mile. A constant toll road.
Electric rates are near 20 cents a kw in California due to using the money to pay state pensions and to cover up the higher cost of solar and windmills. Other states are half the cost.
Calif democrats block oil and gas drilling and want to shut down what they have now. They are going to block new natural gas hookups and outlaw generators so when they shut off the electric power due to what they say is high winds you sit in the dark. Shutdown because they block the clearing of brush by the power lines.... plus there are cases where people find their a/c temp has been turned up remotely or shut off by the power companies after a smart meter is installed.
They also drain the water from reservoirs instead of storing it for droughts. They want to remove dams as well.
Crazy people get in power and this is the result.
