A “synthetic womb” is what is lately on the agenda of tech billionaires around the globe as they seek out a ways to set aside natural birth entirely. A look into a mind of these individuals do reveal quite curious stances.
Possibility of replacing natural birth with synthetic wombs is a matter of discussion among several prominent tech entrepreneurs arguing that such technology would remove the “burden” of pregnancy and allow women to work more.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s fellow tech leaders came up with one solution for declining birth rates, after Muskwarned on Tuesday that society “should be much more worried about population collapse.”
“We should be investing in technology that makes having kids much faster/easier/cheaper/more accessible… Synthetic wombs, etc,” proposed Sahil Lavingia, the founder of digital product trading platform Gumroad.
Co-founder of cryptocurrency Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin agreed, arguing that if the “burden of pregnancy” was replaced with synthetic wombs, then women would be able to continue working.
Won’t they need eggs?
I’ll bet these billionaires have stored up gallons of their own sperm.
The biotech era is disconnected from any moral anchors. The believe anything technologically possible is automatically ok. It isn’t.
I read this book.
I thought Aldous Huxley was fiction.
I’m not for synthetic wombs but there’d be no excuse for abortion if it were a real thing.
Abortion would be simple, just pull the plug on the electro womb.
So,where do you buy these synthetic wombs?🤔
No preform babies were consulted for this article.
No preborn babies were consulted for this article.
From a Not So Brave New World.
Evil.
Well, this crowd is already hard at work replacing women with sex robots - so this is just the next logical step. :)
Never has the whole world been this insane. Never.
Sure seems that the Revelation to John makes it clear that very few are gonna live much longer. This age is ending.
That’s a really good way to eliminate the mother/child bond. During birth, women release large amounts of oxytocin, creating an emotional bond with their child. Without that hormonal response, a bond would potentially be much weaker, it it exists at all.
I do believe that’s the point. I guess the film, “I Am Mother” and series, “Black Mirror” weren’t warning enough.
Makes about as much sense as killing your taste buds but eating chocolate cake for the nutritional value. Is this what passes for academia and intelligence today? Or perhaps the transgender war on women is not sufficient to satisfy their appetite.
Sounds like they read the same 50s/60s sci-fi I did; but, also like reading 1984, got the whole wrong message from it.
Artificial wombs; raised in creches; programmed to their proper cog-ness from before birth to maturity, then sold & plugged into the job they were programmed to perform, to slave for the benefit of the elites in charge...
Pretty handy for growing their own child sex slaves in the basement...
Obviously they care nothing at all about the effect of losing the real
pre-natal mother/child experience on a child.
This will be used for custom, off the books experiments as well, I suspect.
The horrors just keep coming...
“ How are these babies conceived”
By injecting semen from synthetic penises into synthetic vaginas.
2 Peter 2:3
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Synthetic wombs would be an absolute boom for the cattlr industry. It takes 280+ days for a cow to go full term with a single calf. With matrix style pods you could have hindreds or even thousands of calves from the eggs of a single cow. A bull already fathers thousands via artificial insemination almost no cattle are allowed to naturally breed with a bull its all elbows deep tube work these days. Chickens already drop an egg per day and pigs have litters but matrix pods could work for them too. Its going to be a race between pod livestock and cellular culture grown muscle tissue protein.
Humans need to get off this rock, we won’t be taking full grown livestock to space the resources they need is simply too great. Taking full grown humans is also resource intensive if you can grow in pods your colonialists along the way “hatching” them right as they get to the new planet all the better.
