Pink eye was mentioned as one problem she has. Very likely a herpes infection. The valtrex they are giving her would tend to confirm it. Also, there is a deadly form of herpes (deadly to humans) that some monkeys carry. I read a story a few years back of a lab tech that came into contact with a monkey in the lab, and ended up dying from that particular form of herpes.
Pink eye comes from feces, which monkeys love to play with and throw at anyone around them.
This is why everyone should wash their hands after using the toilet.
