Yeah, except the knocked, loudly announced several times “police, search warrant”, deployed flash bangs that nobody but cops really use, and used a tool to breach the door. And he shot at ‘em 18 times with a Glock 40.
It’s all on video and has been released.
He was a criminal, and they made loud announcements that they were police and had a search warrant, they had to use a breaching tool too. He started shooting out the window, then started shooting at the cops who finally got the door knocked open.
He wasn’t some innocent person startled by cops he misidentified. He knew it was cops and shot it out.
Sometimes the cops are wrong, but this one they were the good guys. Also it was not a wrong address, it was a place where the killer was staying but he was out right then.
Side with BLM if you want. In this case, Las Vegas is a little safer tonight.
Also include those that write; "There's got to be more to the story".
"Let's wait until the investigation is done".
So, a guy is sleeping on his couch at 5 am when he is awakened by a loud bang accompanied by his door being broken in and some guy shooting at him through the window. He should have known that this was a lawful police entry because bad guys don't use explosives.
OK, but just maybe the cops would have better spent their time and resources surveilling the property and ascertaining that the guy they wanted wasn't there rather that busting in during the middle of the night and killing someone they weren't looking for.
You keep excusing every stupid and illegal action the police take. You might think differently if it was you or someone you care about. Then again, you’d probably believe that you or someone you care about did something so wrong that they deserved a no-knock SWAT raid.

I think part of what drives these things is fear. From police officers it is the fear of getting overwhelmed by adversary firepower, so they rely on the bullshiite tactic of blindsiding, gang level violence, and numerical superiority. Technology is helping to overcome that need. All ya gotta do is knock down the door with a door robot.
The adrenaline cowboys don’t like this approach because they want the rush and the glory. And there are parallel approaches like blocking up the sewer system 15 minutes before the raid, not exactly spectacular but very effective police work.
